Smith Could Stay at Brentford Friday, 29th Jan 2010 12:19 Town manager Roy Keane says he is considering whether to allow central defender Tommy Smith to stay with loan club Brentford. On Wednesday, Bees boss Andy Scott said he would like the New Zealand World Cup hopeful to remain with his club beyond his current one-month deal, which is up next weekend. Keane told the club site: "We've had a request from Brentford for Tommy to stay a bit longer and we will think about it. "Tommy is a good player and he's getting games there, which is what the lad needs. We had him watched last week and letting him stay at Brentford is something we will look at over the next few days." Smith, who is looking to seal his place in New Zealand’s World Cup squad, has made three appearances for the Bees so far.
