Priskin Confirms QPR Loan Move
Priskin Confirms QPR Loan Move
Monday, 1st Feb 2010 14:55

Town striker Tamás Priskin has told the Hungarian media that he will be joining QPR on loan for the rest of the season with the club subsequently also confirming the move. On Friday, manager Roy Keane insisted that the 23-year-old would not be leaving the club during the transfer window but, having given the frontman a rare start at Preston on Saturday, has changed his mind.

Priskin says the clubs have agreed a deal which will see him go to Loftus Road for the remainder of the season: “I am pleased that the agreement has been made because since the autumn at Ipswich I have played less than I expected. I hope that this will change with my new team.”

The former Watford man, who joined the Blues for £1.7 million is due to meet up with his new team-mates tomorrow.

The Hungarian international, who is contracted to the Blues until 2012, has made 10 starts and nine sub appearances, scoring two goals.

Town hope to complete the loan signing of Daryl Murphy from Sunderland before this afternoon's 5pm deadline.

£1.7 million for him and another £1.7 million for Lee Martin, thats money well spent. Daryl Murphy aint the answer to our goalscoing problems thats for certain. We need a decent striker in the next 2 hours or I fear big trouble ahead!!

I just hope we have put a clause in so he can't play Feb 9th.

I'm a bit disappointed because he hasn't really had a decent run-out yet, but hopefully he can get some useful pitch time down at QPR, and come back a better player for next season. As Mazza says - hopefully this means someone is coming in!

ok, so with john not being brought back, and now tamas going, im really hoping that we are either making enough wages available to bring chopra in, or murphy AND another player are coming in, because i dont believe murphy alone is enough to replace both john and priskin....especially with walters out for a bit as well!!

Madness, absolute madness. Keane must have thought a lot of his performance at Preston then....

Surco, you'd make a wonderful businessman, blatantly telling eveyone that you cant wait to be rid of someone and undermining your own negotiating position.

Dobie ,why do you believe Priskin hasnt had a decent run out yet ? he has been involved in 19 games this season and has had numerous good chances to score and started against a lot of the lower sides .I think Keane has seen enough and wants to cut his losses and i admire him for it

I really hope this won't come back to bite us... Pablo or Priskin... I know which one I think has more promise... and it isn't Pablo.

Hmmm, I just hope we see something before 17:00 tonight... Or else I can see big problems; Pablo + Stead + Walters = how many goals?!

Come on RK - Pull one out of the bag.

Couple of Quotes from Keane
“Tamás is going nowhere. He's staying at the football club. I think the boy deserves a chance, I think the boy's a talented player"

“We've had plenty of enquiries for him but I made the decision that he's going to stay with us. Tamás is staying, Tamás is going to be part of our squad, definitely.”

What the hell changed in 4 days ? Starting to become a bit concerned with Keane to be honest. Lets hope for something BIG in the next hour and a half....
