Keane-Mowbray Swap Claim
Keane-Mowbray Swap Claim
Sunday, 28th Mar 2010 10:32

Roy Keane and Tony Mowbray could be about to swap jobs, according to one of this morning’s tabloids. Keane’s position at Town has increasingly become the subject of speculation over the last few days, while Mowbray left his role as Celtic manager on Thursday.

The not entirely convincing report claims that Keane is wanted by the Bhoys and that Town see former skipper and coach Mowbray as his successor.

After Saturday’s game at Swansea, Keane, who played for Celtic in the final days of his career, showed no signs of looking to leave the Blues: "I'm very proud to be manager of Ipswich and, please God, that will continue.”

What a load of clap trap! Seems the paper have little else to write about last night. With Mowbary and Keane not satisfying their respective clubs how hard was that to work out?

Me for one would like to RK continue, Good time ahead I think.

. . . further more, it's hardly a swap if Mowbary isn't at Celtic anymore as of Thursday anyway.

Mumble, mumble, mumble

Well, if the people say its true! Haha! I'm a wee bit suprised it's taken this long for one of the papers to go with that story.
I dont know if Keane is close to getting the heave-ho or not but if he is to get the boot Curbs or Mogga would do for me.

I think it is a real problem that newspapers are constantly resorting to completely fabricating story's its disgustingly lazy there are plenty of interesting story's they can write about they just cant be bothered to do the work

"according to one of this morning's tabloids."

A phrase that always persuades me not to continue reading...

Roy Keane gets my vote, if he leaves now we'll never benefit from the experience he will certainly have gained with us this season, if only Marcus Evans can be patient and allow him the two years agreed and not be too influenced by the witch hunters, who would love to force him out prematurely by constantly putting him down on this site, (just as they did with Jim and Joe), why on earth does anyone think that Mobray or Curbishly is going to step in and create a magnificent transformation, they would require time and patience also, just as Roy Keane does, changing Managers regularly does nothing for a football club in my opinion and consequently leaves supporters disenchanted & disillusioned with the whole set up, we should be patient and fully support our Manager, who is highly talented, honest, decent, passionate and completely focused on making OURS AND HIS CLUB successfull and I honestly believe that he can and will.

I do not doubt Keane's desire to win...but these have become empty hollow words as the season draws to a close and we look back on the "Learning Curve"...I wanted Keane to succeed but his languid approach on Tuesday night coupled with players who did not seem to care was as I have said a watershed....a last at Swansea he showed that he has some form of tactics...saying all that GetYerBoots I do like what you have written and do not wish for Curb's or Mogga.

Roytheboy well said, good to hear some common sense being spoken. Hope that this time next year you are posting told you so.

If he's going to go he's going to go. My main concern is his seeming inability to attract players to sign permanent deals and reliance on loan players also his blinkered view of the transfer market with regards to Irish Sunderland players. Sure managers use their own connections with early signings but after a year we should have moved on from that. If he can demonstrate he has then I think he should be given until the end of the year (not end of season) to show he can get the team working, otherwise I think things will just continue from this season. I admit that I've taken to his press personality but at the same time I wish he had more opinions about his own team rather than every other one.

This is a load of twaddle! Should ME decide Keanes had long enough I believe he would go for somone with more experience this time round.

It was a two year plan. and still is a two year plan !
Give the man time to build his own team. If we bring in curbs or mowbray then we start from scratch again.

I question the word " plan " . If the plan was to dismantle the team and fight relegation he is well on course - The only people wanting Keane to go to Celtic ( apart from me and numerous others ) will be the Rangers fans !!!

Will we ever play attractive football under Keane? Thats the question for me. Support the team, support the manager, but its attractive winning football we want.

Typical lazy journalism i would think. Mogga has had chances to manage here before but said he wasn't interested, although i love the way he gets his teams to play football i'm unsure if he could get our current squad playing that way. Also think Keane needs to be a success here for his own managerial future in the game and Evans/Clegg need it too so as to not look like they've made the wrong appointment. If Keane can learn from his mistakes this year and start better in August then change will not happen, this would at last get rid of the Curbishley spectre and then i could stop getting annoyed about people being unable to spell his name!!

please let it be the case Our club needs to be pulled together and an ex player and hero who knows the club and the fans also the division can do that. keen may have a plan but i cant see any improvement on last seasons team. keen may well come good but so could a new manager. it could even boost season ticket sales bring a bit of optimism to the club. as match day is torture at the moment but as a fan i cant stop going in hope of the magic returning to the club.

I hope not! Mowbray did a very poor job for Celtic. No guarantee he will do any better than RK at Ipswich. The only person I would sack Keane for is Curbishley. If this doesn't happen then think we should stick as we are. Roy has only been on post for 11 MONTHS.
