Balkestein Nets First Career Goal
Balkestein Nets First Career Goal
Tuesday, 30th Mar 2010 22:09

On-loan Town defender Pim Balkestein nodded in his first senior goal on Tuesday evening as Brentford beat Oldham 3-2 at Boundary Park. The Dutchman rose at the far post to head home a David Hunt freekick in the 65th minute.

Balkestein is with the Bees until the end of the season and is weighing up whether to make the move permanent in the summer with the clubs having agreed a fee.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace's 3-1 victory at Watford - with former Town loanee Stern John netting the first - kept the Eagles third from bottom but reduced the gap between themselves and the Blues in 16th to six points.

Sory to sound unkind, but that shows you how poor league one is, Norwich are in for a shock if they think the side they have now will be any good next season.

Not sure Norwich will struggle as they have the momentum with them. Providing they don't lose Martin, Holt, Hoolahan and co they I am afraid will be a force to be reckoned with. I know one sure thing if God forbid we were to go down we would not come back in style as they have. I dreaded the thought of that bloody open top bus riding through Norwich and thats why I bet on them to win Div - the £300 although dirty money will pay for my season ticket at the pride of Anglia ITFC.
