Second half goals form Wayne Brown and Darren Bent continued Town's wining pre-season form. On a very hot afternoon at London Road Town showed some nice touches without ever really dominating Barry Fry's side.

The first real chance fell to Titus Bramble in the14th minute but he headed wide as did Pablo Counago a minute or so later.

Town were hampered by referee Paul Barnes who seemed determined to give as many freekicks as possible to Peterborough. He also had several words with Pablo, once for an alleged dive and latterly for a strong challenge.

Andy Marshall made a good save on 37 after Chris Makin had made an error and allowed Filan a shot on goal. The keeper's shot-stopping was fine, although one or two of his kicks left a little be desired, one going straight to an opposition player with Marshall well away from his goal.

Pablo, who looks like a skillful Mich D'Avray, had the ball in the net right on half-time, but this was disallowed for pushing by Matt Holland.

The second half saw the usual pre-season flurry of substitutions and Keith Branagan took over in goal.

Martijn Reuser should have done better when put through one-on-one with the keeper but Tyler saved his shot.

In the 62nd minute Wayne Borwn got his second goal of the pre-season campaign. Martijn Reuser whipped a corner in and the cente-half headed pwerfully into the net.

A minute later Marcus Stewart had a shot saved, but after that there was little goalmouth action.

In the 84th minute Darren Bent ran on to a pass into space by Chris Makin and lashed home a shot from an acute angle. It was a fine piece of skill from a player travelling fans were itching to see.

With a couple of minutes left on the clock Peterborough came close to scoring. Keith Branagan was deceived by the wind as he came out to head a ball away. It dropped a few inches in front of him but tthe peterborough striker hit the ball wide.

Another good exercise with plenty of players getting run-outs. Miller and Counago both had good moments with Pablo particularly showing some good flicks.

Marshall (Branagan 46), Wilnis (Clapham 56), Makin, Brown, Bramble, Wright, Miller (Abidallah), Holland, Stewart (Naylor), Counago (Bent 59), Reuser(Karic 87).
