Burley Watches Juve
Burley Watches Juve

George Burley has said he spent Friday night watching Juventus play Napoli in Turin. The identity of Burley's target is a mystery. The home side ran out 1-0 winners on the night.

The Town boss said: "I was in Turin looking at players but nothing is likely to come of it as yet."

Earlier reports eminating from Iceland suggested a link with RKC Waalwijk's Johan Gudjonsson. These may not necessarily be totally wrong, just that Burley didn't watch him this weekend.

James Scowcroft will join Leicester City today providing all goes well. The 25-year-old striker will have his medical before signing on the dotted line.

Scowcroft said: "I have mixed feelings about going. I have been at Ipswich a long time so it will feel strange being at another club. But hopefully things will work out for me at Leicester."

The hitch which held the deal up was a disagreement about the fee. Leicester wanted to pay £3 million while Town wanted £500,000 more. We understand that the Blues got the money they were after.

George Burley said: "Everything is sorted out and we expect the deal to go through quite quickly."
