Loanee midfielder Jack Colback was named Town’s Players’ Player of the Year at this evening’s Players’ Awards Evening held at Milsoms in Kesgrave. The Sunderland man also picked up the Goal of the Season award for his early strike at Blackpool in the FA Cup.

Jaime Peters won the Most Improved Player of the Year award, while Gareth McAuley picked up the boxholders and sponsors gong in front of more than 150 corporate guests, boss Roy Keane, chief executive Simon Clegg and the playing and coaching staff.

Centre-half Tom Eastman won the Academy Player of the Year. The Clacton-based youngster has been in the first team squad in recent weeks and looks likely to make his debut before the end of the season.

I would have put Peters in front of Colback but agree those 3 plus Damion (and Grant until a few games ago) have been our top performers.

I suppose Wickham will have to wait till the end of next Season for an award then? And hopefully sweep the board!

I second that corsa..top performer, Leadbitter was going to get my vote until March, but overall I have to give my vote to Gareth, after a shaky start he has blossomed since Roy took the captaincy off him, next to Delany, who is number 2 for me.

The lad has got skill and determination and he has shown us what a lot of the older professionals have not, he will be sorely missed next season. Good luck with the rest of your career Ginger Jack.

Shame Colback's going back. Well done to him, though. Has had an excellent season for us.
Good luck in the future!

It will be a shame to lose him next season but you never know we may get him on loan again, however we have to plan with out him moving forward.

Can't wait for next season, premiership here we come

Fully deserved, he's had an excellent season even when asked to play in what is for him a less favoured position out on the left. I just hope he gets some games at Sunderland next year and isn't left sitting in the reserves.

Peters and Mac are also good choices for me, some credit has to go to the management for the way they have turned them both into regular and consistent performers this season.

Good luck Jack and thanks for your hard work. Blue Army!

Roy Keane's best signing since he's been in charge, just a shame we can't sign him permantly. He is excellent in the centre but has made such an impact at left midfield aswell, also he's played left and right back, the perfect player, wouldn't suprise me if he was a regular next season, a well deserved winner.

Apparently Walters was second, how did he manage that?

Keeping in with the Captain no doubt.

Firstly and something which appears to be missed, well done Roy for bringing Colback to the club in the first place. An excellent, albeit loan, signing.

However, my vote will be going to another of Roy's signings - Delaney. Despite a patchy start, he had the bottle to get through it and has been outstanding.

Obviously Walters does something we cant see, he must be a good captain off the field or something as his performances havnt been up too much.

Saying that, he is our leading goalscorer.
