No Town Comment on Departures Until Friday

Town will not be making any comment on which of the out of contract players are being released until Friday. TWTD reported earlier today that both Richard and David Wright are amongst those who will be leaving the club when their current deals are up at the end of June.

Pim Balkestein will also leave the club in the summer, along with loanee Liam Rosenior, while Jon Stead, who is contracted to the Blues until 2011, is set to make his loan move to Coventry a permanent switch, a fee believed to be £400,000 having been settled with the Sky Blues but with the player yet to agree personal terms.

Boss Roy Keane is understood to be continuing to meet with the out of contract members of his squad throughout today.

The close season should be an exciting time to see which new players will come in, but I just get the fear with keane. He's probably more likely to offload some of the better players and focus on areas that don't need the work. And the replacements could be hit or miss based on last years.
But the big worry is he'll blow more cash on some dross, offload some of the skillful potential first teamers and be sacked, leaving any new manager with more problems and less money than he inherited.
I hope I'm wrong and he develops before my eyes.

Last season Keane managed to release and sell players who were better than those he brought in. However i dont believe those mistakes will happen again this season. The team has been performing much better over the second half of the season as Keane has learnt from his early season mistakes and gained more experiance now. He'll bring the right players in this summer and it will be early. Good season next year no doubt about it!

goatman the reason those mistakes wont happen again is cause keane sold or released all the good players then and theres none left to get rid of
and it would be pretty damn hard to not improve in the second half of the season after the performance in the 1st half i dont think it would be humanly possible to play any worse still he kept us up with some boring play and lots of draws but has he got any idea how to go another step no judging by what weve seen this season i got a feeling it could be a worse season next year just that the worstness will be spread more evenly over the full season rather than packed into the first part of the season like this one

My concerns are not those out of contract who are going. yes, wages lost, but those still in contract we do not want, who will not go/no-one else wants, who will stay here.

I assume of all those players told they can leave none will surely be picked for sunday. If it was me I would tell RK to move on. So bearing in mind most of the names have not featured in the team, are on loan, or in reserves.

We should have an unchanged side and draw number 20. What are the odds on another draw for Sunday.
