Priskin Donation to Flood Victims
Priskin Donation to Flood Victims
Friday, 28th May 2010 08:42

Town striker Tamás Priskin and his international team-mate Marton Fulop have donated one million Hungarian forints (just over £3,000) to the Hungarian Red Cross to aid victims of the floods which have recently hit their home country.

Exceptionally heavy rain has led to flooding throughout central Europe in the last couple of weeks.

The duo said in a statement: "We feel that as professional footballers, we owe a special responsibility towards our country.”

Priskin and Fulop, amongst Town’s targets this summer, are close friends, the Town striker sounding out his international team-mate prior to signing for the Blues in August, the keeper having played for Roy Keane at Sunderland.

The pair are likely to be in action for Hungary in a friendly against Germany on Saturday. Priskin, who is contracted to the Blues until 2012, has previously won 24 caps and has scored seven goals.

A friendly between England and Hungary at Wembley on Wednesday 11th August was announced on Thursday.

I think he should give £500 to charity for every time he's flagged offside. That would learn ya' Tamas! Problem is does he earn enough to be able to feed his family after paying the fines?

"We feel that as professional footballers, we owe a special responsibility towards our country, thus we shall give less than a days pay, and we shall spunk the rest of our hideously large salary on luxuries you will never be able to afford. Enjoy the water compadres."

Top bloke, Tamas. You're all heart.

firstly how do all of you moaners know what 1m hungrian forints is worth, or what u can get for it, maybe that is what the charity were campaigning for.
secondly it was reported that £20,000 was at least double our highest earner. Don't you think it is extremely unlikely tamas priskin is our highest earner, especially as we signed him from watford. It is more likely that he is on like £5000 a week, in which case it is over half his wage.

Good bloke Prskin, hope we give him a chance...

Honestly, only giving that much in forints when he earns what he does....he's only getting shot of his loose change from the sideboard drawer before Hungary join the euro. I think I gave 2000 lira to a charity just before Italy joined up, don't remember *that* making the news. Shocking. ;)
