Two Wrights Wrong Says Burley
Two Wrights Wrong Says Burley

Former Blues boss George Burley insists that keeper Julian Speroni will be part of his Crystal Palace side next season and says he is yet to speak to released Town glovesman Richard Wright. The former England international was understood to be on Burley’s radar with Speroni tipped to join either West Ham or QPR.

Burley said: "I haven't spoken to Richard. We're only looking for a number two and I don't think he would be interested in coming as number two.

"Julian Speroni is very much a Crystal Palace player. I know there has been speculation about a possible transfer but I haven't heard anything."

Wright, 32, has also been linked with West Ham and League One Charlton, having formally ended his ties with Town when his contract expired yesterday.

Full-back David Wright agreed to join the Eagles on a two-year deal earlier in the week, also having been released by the Blues.

actually we have got to somehow give away some of our deadwood, seriuosly who is going to want anyone off that list of 8, going to have to pay clubs to take them, or pay the players to leave, simular to the finedy goerge situation, we wasted so much money last season, not suprising keanes kitty this year is so small, recon we will be looknig at laon players at best, heard leeds have released andy robinson, he might be worth a good look at on a free.

clearing out our oversized squad is going to cost us, we have no choice but to pay clubs to take our players, a becuase they all played sh*t last season and b becuase keane has messed them all up mentally, they probally need councilling!

Wrighty should stay IMO, last season he played behind an awful defence early on and lost some confidence & yes made some mistakes...but that doesn't make him a bad keeper, he was our top player the year before!!
I have always rated Wrighty & think he should stay to fight for his place with Murphy or ALB.

joeippy01. Yawn. There has not been a lot of transfer movement anywhere. Why do you think our club should be any different? I hope he takes his time and picks the right players. Also we may need to offload a few players before we can commit to new players.

Good headline and I like the use of the word 'glovesman'. You could also have used 'custodian'.

asamink - most clubs have brought in a few players and keane has said were not anywhere near to bringing in 1 player, shambles as far as im concerned, this will be the last year i renew my season ticket if things dont improve which will probally depend on keane staying, he is ruining our football club and a lot of fans need to really have a look at what is happening rather than living in dream land saying yeah will will be promoted next season anyway, how will we?

There is definitely transfer activity elsewhere, as over the last couple of days: Reading sign Andy Griffin, Watford sign Rene Gilmartin and Tom Aldred, Bristol City sign Albert Adomah, Barnsley sign Liam Dickinson...
