Summer signing Conor Hourihane has been named in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for the final matches of their 2011 UEFA European Championships qualifying campaign next month. Ireland stand no chance of making it to the finals.

The Irish youngsters face Switzerland on September 3rd and then Turkey on September 7th, both away.

Hourihane recently made his debut for the U21s in the 5-0 victory over Estonia, claiming a goal.

To be selected for your country can only be positive so just as well he is at Ipswich. Like the fact that we have got a new crop of young guns coming through and that Keane is prepared to give them a run out. Well actually at the minute he hasnt got a lot of choice so fill your boots lads.
