Keane: Town No Nearer to Adding Loanee
Keane: Town No Nearer to Adding Loanee
Friday, 1st Oct 2010 13:51

Town boss Roy Keane says he is no nearer to adding a further loanee to his squad but at the moment is happy with the players he already has. The Blues manager had been targeting two further short-term signings.

Keane said: “There have been no developments. We’re fairly happy with the group with have at the moment, so I’ve not really made any further attempts to bring anyone into the club, but we look at that on a daily basis. At the moment I don’t think there’s any need, so there’s no news on that.”

The Town boss could hand a full debut to his most recent loan signing, Tottenham’s Jake Livermore, when the Blues take on Leeds at Portman Road tomorrow.

Keane says defender Darren O’Dea is the biggest injury doubt with his ongoing knee problem. Tommy Smith is his likely deputy despite the back injury which could see him miss New Zealand’s friendlies in the international fortnight.

Troy Brown and Grant Leadbitter suffered knocks at Reading but trained this morning and are likely to be OK to face Leeds.

No Premiership for us then,we badly need a poacher.
Too much pressure on a 17 year old and Priskin is just not up to it.

Wait till Christmas, if we're sitting strongly in and around the top 6 then marcus will forward the cash for a January signing or wage money for a good prem striker. Let's be paitent. We've got as good a chance in the table as anyone at the moment. QPR will drop points from now on, just watch.

Typical how two weeks ago did Keane say we needed three more in and now saying he is happy its all utter rubbish just getting fans hopes up then putting us down its bleeding obvious we are two short we need another striker and a playmaker probably a right back too it cant be that hard surely. Its ok we will wait until we are in bottom half before we sort out the blatant problem of not putting the ball in the net sort it now before its too late. And before anyone says negative moaning etc I am a season ticket holder in north stand and am entitled to have a go when justified!

I think it is great getting in some loanee players, youngsters like Townsend and Livermore are keen to impress at a club like Ipswich. Also it is nice to see Keane giving our youngsters oppurtunitys too. Hyam, Lambe, Brown, Eastman etc. 1 player who hasn't been included lately is Ainsley. is he injured? he impressed me in pre-season. I think Keane (as usual) is keeping his cards very close to his chest and still wouldn't be suprised to see at least 1 more addition soon.

Whopit i think you are better directing your anger at the board as i am sure if he had he financial backing Keane would have lined up a couple more players. At the end of the day even loan players cost money...........

Another striker is needed. We just won't score enough goals.

King K and 24. Footballers are young people and almost certainly read forums and things to see what people think of them. Think about it! We all feed off positivity!

Shut up 'mripswich' you're talking rubbish, like he said he has a right to moan when its justified. And let's face it, it is. Bout a week ago or two keane was saying our squad isn't good enough, we need 2/3 players still etc. And now suddenly he's fine with it. My guess is that he's gone out looking but no one wants to come here and play for him. And let's face it he's not going to admit that.

On 20th September Keane said: "We need two or three players. A blind man could see that."

Today he said "We're fairly happy with the group with have at the moment, so I've not really made any further attempts to bring anyone into the club, but we look at that on a daily basis. At the moment I don't think there's any need, so there's no news on that."

Rather confusing how he appears to keep changing his mind.

Ipswich24 ok maybe i miss read it sorry for that, yes you do have a right to moan of you feel that things isnt going the way u hoping for i'm also a season ticker in the north stand and know where your coming from, keane seems to be happy with his squad now so what i dont understand why did he say he was looking for 1 or 2 loan signings? Maybe he is still looking who knows.
