Fallon Confident That Goals Will Come
Fallon Confident That Goals Will Come

New loan striker Rory Fallon is confident that he can score goals during his time with the Blues. The New Zealand international joined Town on loan with a view to a permanent move on Thursday.

The 28-year-old said: “The manager said that he wanted a target man. That’s what I am all about, bringing people into play and ruffling a few feathers.

“I see it as a massive chance for me, and I will be giving it 100%. I’m definitely confident that I can get goals here, and I believe that I am in my prime. I believe this club can go up. They certainly started the season looking that way,”

Fallon has scored only one goal for Plymouth since their relegation to League One in the summer and admits that it’s been a difficult time at Home Park: “It has been tough in a struggling team near the bottom. But this move has happened so quickly. It’s a massive surprise.”

Born-again Christian Fallon's initial loan spell runs to January 22nd with Pilgrims boss Peter Reid having a confirmed that a fee has already been agreed in order to make the move a permanent deal if Fallon impresses.

Welcome Rory, and by the way score the winner Sunday and you can start looking for a house!

We should certainly give him a chance, he may not be the signing we'd all hoped for but he could do a job for us as we do lack a real target man. Confidence plays a huge part for most players so if we can make him feel wanted here from the start we may well be surprised...granted the reports on him aren't great right now but if he 'bundles' one in against Nodge off his backside to win the game then he could quickly look like a different player!

Here's hoping!

I agree hog, however we haven't had a good target man since Koochy so I am still pleased.

WHAT ABOUT ALAN LEE.GREAT target man for us .
Funny old world, Keane reconed the fans know nothing , and we dont need a RB or someone taller than 5 ft 8 for hoofball and guess who comes through the door. a RB and a tall target man that can head the ball , not like priskin , the tiny scotland and the tall but weak in the air connor.

Keano , sometimes you are daft ( actually quite alot of the time)

Think about it this way,Keane has listened to the fans.
I hope Fallon will turn out to be one of the greatest acquisitions ever of this great and mighty club.
30 goals is your aim Fallon, starting with 1 against Norwich.

30 goals? No pressure then! Is that because nobody else in the team can hit a barn door from 5 yards!?
Don't expect too much from Fallon, just listen to what the Plymouth fans think.

think i read on here somewhere that the guy went through a hernia opperation in september so his form afterwards was abviously sketcy. Jurys out but then it should be as the guys not kicked a ball yet. what a game to make you debut in lol
not a better player than scotland but certainly better in the position of a lone forward in a 451 we would hope.

i doubt whether keane has litened to the fans RKiaG, its the injury's to eastman and wickham that have prompted the moves. However, its nice to have players that will play in the correct position. im certainly looking forward to watching the dutch fella.

What is wrong with you lot ? When RK does things you have wanted him to you still slate him ! Have you no sense at all ?

meekreech - couldn't agree more. Some people would find reason to moan if we signed Ronaldo! Sadly, there are a small number of fans who are simply out to see Roy fail. Yes, there have been plenty of nagatives over the past few weeks, but some refuse to look at any positives. At other clubs, bringing in re-enforcements gives fans a lift - here we find even more reason to moan!

We certainly need a 'target man' as we have players who could play 'off ' one - not terribly excited about this signing but nothing to loose, only valuable time if it doesn't work out.
At least there is a ripple of encouragement that Keane is, AT LONG LAST, beginning to listen, and perhaps learn in the lesson of what's required. HOORAY.

Sounds like a player who would give all he got at every second of the match. In my opinion it's cruel, clueless, and stupid to prejudge a new player.
Agree with meekreech and jas0999

JESUS CHRIST THIS CLUB IS FOOKED, give him a chance? even if we were playing well i would be very sceptical this player is complete SH7TE! the fowards we have (who dont get any service) are far superior! Is this a signing maybe preparing us for division one?
