Keane Weighing Up Loan Decisions
Keane Weighing Up Loan Decisions
Thursday, 9th Dec 2010 16:01

Town boss Roy Keane says he will look to make decisions on the loan players whose spells are due to end in January towards the end of this month. Gianni Zuiverloon, Jack Colback, Jake Livermore and Darren O'Dea’s spells are up just after the new year, while Rory Fallon’s initial loan runs to January 22nd.

Keane told the club site: "I would expect we would have sorted things out in the next few weeks, towards the end of December.

"There is a lot that can happen in the next few weeks though before making decisions on the boys. First of all we have to get permission from the clubs to keep the players. Then do the boys want to stay? Can we get them minutes on the pitch? We have to weigh all that up before making decisions.

"As much as we might want to keep them, if they are not playing games every week, they might not want to stay. There are a lot of decisions to be made over the next few weeks. It's going to be a hectic period."

Reserves full-back Seb Dunbar’s contract runs until January, having already been extended in September, and Keane says he will speak to the academy graduate regarding his future in the next few weeks.

Personally i wouldn't be fussed if none of them stayed,

Right back - give peters a run there with tom eastman as back up or a ore defensive option

Left back O'conner should be given a run

Livermore is no better than what we have, and Colback, although a good player seems to be fitted into the team at the expensve of other players and reduces the dynamic of the team.

Haven;t seen enough of fallon to really comment but he doesn't excite me.

I know a lot has been said about pressure on young players, but i think we would all be far happier if we were where we were in the league, but had been developing and giving experience to our own young players (lamb, murray etc)

Is Townsend here for the full season then? If so cool, he's been the best of the bunch so far.

I don't really care what you do with our team anymore Keane..i've no faith in you and your decisions...you are clueless...things won't improve til you've gone.

As far as i'm concerned, the time between now and when you eventually leave is just dead time and that's unforgivable.

..i'm just counting the days.........

Zuiverloon will either return to West Brom or sign for another Prem outfit, Livermore hasn't been given much of a chance, would be reasonably happy if Colback and O'Dea stayed.

Like to give players a chance but Fallon is a bit of a donkey.

Townsend is on a season-long loan which is a good thing because he has been the best of the loan signings

Lightningboy

Evans wont pay Keane's contract off, its as simple as that. He will wait for him to make the decision himself or a new gaffer will be in for the summer.

Lets hope its someone that you like, I look forward to the non stop positivity from you when that happens, lets hope the new manager dosent do things that dont agree with you, sure the hate will come out when it does.

By the way Pardew to Newcastle, what were they thinking............

People can't say Zuiverloon needs to go back. For the entire season everyone's moaned about a lack of RB.

O'Dea's been a shambles

Livermore's come and warmed the bench.

And Colback is often played on the left, where as I always thought he was a centre mid..

Fallon, needs to be given a chance. A few mins playing in a ten men side, and 20 or so mins the other day...

Obviously things have to be considered before decisions are made. I mean we can't exactly keep someone on if they question keane's tactics can we, time for fall outs has to be given guys, its not all that simple!

Spot on Lightningboy. My main concern is that if Evans doesn't pay Keane off & things don't improve, it may become to late for any new manager to make any difference.

As said before, I'd let all the loan players go back to their clubs, Townsend's here to the end of the season & he's the only one worth keeping anyway!

Might we loan Keane to Accrington Stanley? If so how much would we have to pay them?
This could be a GOOD DEAL

Lightningboy, I agree. Why isn't the bigger issue being addressed? - this is all pretty irrelevant.

It's like a kamakazie pilot deciding what helmet he should wear.

I like Townsend, Colbeck hasn't done it this time, Mowbray paid £3m for Zuiderzee so he may come good, the rest just make up the numbers.

SNOOR!!!!!!

It beggars belief how he is still in a job. He must of been bloody nice in previous life to be given this much time. Chris hughton getting the sack is ridiculous aswell, Keane must be counting his blessings.

Nobody wants to support you anymore Roy, you are hopeless and if Clegg thinks we are going to make it to the play offs with Roy at the healm then he may aswell do one aswell!!!

What is wrong with the people running OUR football club. The are dillusional, do Clegg and Evans watch a different game to us? Keane you have become a joke, you have no tactical awareness, you have no ability to change a game once its started and most of all you have no idea who to buy, who to loan or what to do in general!!

Ive said it once and I will say it again, we have the players, we have the set-up, the ground, the facilities and we have money........what we do have is a competant manager!!! The players don't want to play for him anymore and the fans dont wanna cheer for him anymore!!! simple really isn't it Marcus!!!!

But then again what do I know!

Zuiverloon - we badly need a right-back, but not a temporary player using us to built up fitness for a month before joining another club! I would release Zuiverloon and put all efforts on finding a full-time right-back. It is a joke that Keane released Rosenior and Wright without replacing them.

Jack Colback - Hasn't done so well this time, but nonetheless a hard worker and probably worth keeping around although not to play on the left ahead of Townsend.

Jake Livermore - Has looked fairly poor to me, I'd send him back.

Darren O'Dea - He's a left-sided centre back and as we already have Delaney and Smith in that position (and O'Connor at left-back) I would send him back too.

Rory Fallon - I still can't believe he is here. He doesn't even look like a footballer! Please return him.

Instead of all these loans, how about buying some of the best League One and Two players, preferably the up and coming ones in their early 20s?!

I'm not a great fan of the loan players I like players who are fully committed to the club and who want to give it there all. The only player I would keep personally is zuiverloon. But I Think he has hinted he is looking for regular prem football so it' unlikely that we will keep hold of him. Jaime Peters is very un lucky not to be in the team more regulary he will fill the rb roll and possible wing back pushing forward. I would make an offer for Andros Townsend he has shown some real quality even when most players are playing poor. As for the rest send them all back as well as xmas presents being the following: New manager, Assistant manager, New players, New Ipswich. Simples!!!!!

O'Dea has been a shambles! What games have you seen? HE IS THE WORST SIGNING LOAN OR OTHERWISE THAT I HAVE SEEN IN LONG, LONG TIME. Shocking.

Fallon needs a run. He's an experienced target man and is decent. I believe a deal has been done already to buy him in January. It will be peanuts I would think. We are short of numbers and an experienced front man isn't a bad thing to have - give the boy a chance.

bluelady added 19:44 - Dec 9
slowerball totally disagree, think ODea has had a bad couple of games, and i guess that is propably due to his mind quite rightly being elsewhere (should have been given gardening leave like Torres was for Liverpool) but before that he looked very solid. People seem to have such short memories. if you want to talk worse signings then Fallon has to come in the top 10 of all time. Ok he hasnt been on the pitch long, thank heaven for that. He runs around clueless, is no good in the air...........

well said lighteningboy its like waiting for a toothache to be removed. nothing happening except talk and excuses and club sliding backwards might as well get into the cricket instead. these nohopers get a bit tedious after a while

I'm not sure the loan players have brought us much that we didn't already have. Extra numbers are all good and well but they haven't significantly increased the quality available for selection...

Send them all back and play our own players (Peters/O'Connor/Murray/Lambe etc.) short term ' emergency' loans have ruined our season and now are stopping our young squad from learning their trade effectively - we will not grow if this continues.
the small squad we had left after RK cleared out as asked to by the board was meant to be strengthened with permanent staff who are committed to ITFC - this didn't happen because Clegg couldn't/wouldn't do the deals with players RK identified and in some cases we are led to believe had gentlemans agreements with - and the subsequent loans seem to have been made in a state of panic to make up numbers and appease the supporters.

I doubt RK has the tactical ability to affect a game once it is drifting away from him - he may or may not learn this during his career in management (wherever he may be) much more of a worry in my opinion is Clegg clearly does not have the ability to execute the role he is being asked to fulfill at the club.

I'm delighted we have Andros all season, and would support signing him permanant if possible. not withstanding his ability to make something happen on the footbal pitch his pace is also going to be handy when ME realises that Cleggy has left the gate open and our beloved Suffolk Punch is half way down the road to League 1!

Lighteningboy/Bobble: yup, can't really disagree with you two!!! Keane needs to just get lost now - he's attached to our club like some disgusting fungus that needs to be scraped off and disposed of somewhere safe.
Those who still support him - one question: what will you look back on during this time he was here? What fond memories do you have?

Exactly!!!

He's just not Ipswich - never was, never will be....

Burley's Barmy Army! Burley's Barmy Army!!!

Say what you like about George's time here but it was FULL of good stuff (yeah, some hard times too, but more than enough positive stuff to make up for it...) and when you compare it to Mr Keane you know it bears no comparison don't you???

thechangingman added 21:57 - Dec 9
Mr Keane... Please just leave... You've done enough damage and achieved precisely nothing... No words, no excuses can disguise your inadequacies... It's over, it never really began... Please let us put your and your beige era behind us so that we can move forward again in the Ipswich way: stylish, passing football, exciting, positive, hopeful - something to look forward to...

STOP DRAGGING MY CLUB THROUGH THE MUD JUST SO YOU CAN PRACTICE BEING A MANAGER - HAVE SOME DIGNITY MAN...
