Town have sold out their entire allocation of 3,000 tickets for the FA Cup third round tie at Chelsea on Sunday 9th January (KO 3pm).

Seats went on sale to Silver Card holders today with general sale due to start Thursday had their been any tickets remaining.

Tickets for the Carling Cup semi-final at Arsenal go on sale to those who haven't received letters from the club from January 4th, full details on the club site.

Didn't want to go anyway, just as well Arsenal have a decent sized stadium!!

Mind I'm sure Chelsea may struggle to sell there tickets, why not give us a few thousand more??

It is all ticket office asked for as they thought with Arsenal away and 9k tickets for emirates, we would not sell our allocation so played it safe with 3k, clearly not enough we could take 5k I am sure as not even gone to general availability yet

Last time we went, there were season ticket holders complaining they couldnt get one of the 5000 tickets (In essence, a gold card was needed to ensure a season ticket holder got a ticket).

This time, there were only 3000 tickets, yet all season ticket holders had their opportunity and they still hadnt sold out (hence on sale to Silver Members).

Olimar, they had not gone on general sale yet so of course we would sell more tickets, they have not asked for enough clearly.

Chelsea released more tickets after the initial 3k were sold the last time,so I would imagine they will let us have more soon?

I think this is probably what happened; For us to have more than 3,000 tickets, Chelsea would have had to re-seat some of their own season ticket holders. So Chelsea did offer up the additional seats for us, but on the premise that what we don't sell, we pay for. Rather than risk accepting an additional 2,500 (or so) tickets and failing to sell some that we still have to pay for, we decided to stick with just the initial 3,000.

In my opinion, this was a bad move, as we could probably have sold the additional seats. Even if we didn't, I doubt there'd be many left that we have to still pay for. If we had, say, a thousand unsold tickets, we'd have to pay something in the region of £25,000 - and that's only taking the adult £25 ticket into account. Wouldn't it have been worth paying that for an extra load of fans there to cheer on the team?

I think our ticket office played safe but deprived fans of the chance to go and watch the team at Chelsea.

Hi, i know its not the Chelsea game, but why is the Arsenal away game general sale 14th jan for ipswich fans when arsenal gen . sale is the 4th jan. Want to go but probably be guaranteed to get ticket if sit with home fans, only thinking of that because my boy is a gooner!!!!

It is a fact that the club would have been on risk for an extra 3,000 tickets, total £75,000. However, still a poor decision IMO & with only 3,000 Town fans, going to be much less good an atmosphere.

Some people really don't know what they're talking about.

But hey, don't let that get in the way of a good moan.

we would have struggled to have sold the full allocation, so the club (not the ticket office) played safe, especially given the low home attendances

I think this is a joke - I go to the away games rather than the home games and for me to lose out because the club don't think we can sell is scandalous. They have mid-judged it big time if season ticket supporters have snapped them up - we would have easily sold the allocation.

yeah, there should be plenty of room in the stadium. I can't see many Chelsea fans turning out to see a poor Championship side can you? So why not give us more tickets so we can pay 47 quid and watch us get hammered.

I am staying at home.
