Reuser Flattered by Spurs Interest

Martijn Reuser has said he is flattered by claims that Spurs are showing interest in him. The Dutchman stressed that nether he nor Town had heard anything from Glenn Hoddle's club, but sees any interest as a compliment.

Reuser told his official website: "I've been told there are some rumours going around of Spurs being interested in me. The main thing I have got to say about this is that I'm really flattered. Tottenham are a big club with a magnificent stadium at White Hart Lane. I remember our first away game of last season, although we lost that game I have to say the atmosphere made a big impression on me."

The ex-Ajax man says stories like these do little damage to a player: "I can't see why rumours like these could ever harm a player; to me it's nothing more than a great compliment. Ipswich did great last year and I'm very proud to say I played my part. Other clubs noticing our skills and talents is very satisfying, but I must stress that I have had no contact from Spurs and, as far as I know, neither have Ipswich."
