Loan for Croft
Loan for Croft

Out of favour defender Gary Croft feels that a loan move might be the best thing to get his first team career back on the rails. Croft underwent a groin operation in July and hopes to return to the reserves in the Fulham game next Wednesday.

The ex-Blackburn player said: "That would be a good starting point and I've had a word with the manager about going on loan for a month if that was possible. I think it might be a good way to really get myself right for what I hope will be a first team career again."

Marcus Stewart says he's not worried by his current lack of goals. The striker has failed to find the net in Town's first three games, but feels that he is experienced enough to come through it.

The England hopeful said: "There's 35 league matches to go and there's loads of time. I've been in the game far too long to get worried about a situation like this. I'm a team man and my main concern is that the team wins the next game rather than me scoring. At my previous club Huddersfield I once went ten games without scoring. It wasn't a situation I particularly enjoyed of course, but that's football and the main thing was that I kept working as hard as I could for the team."

Stewart says he'll keep playing his game and hopes the goals will follow.
