TWTD understands that released academy centre-half Josh Meekings is joining League Two Stevenage on trial. The 18-year-old was told his time with Town was up earlier in the month.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Torquay United are also interested in the Bury St Edmunds-born defender.

Any one who is a genuine supporter of Ipswich Town FC.....

Any & all academy players give their time, effort and hopes to the club and the club in return gives them the opportunity to develope in to a professional footballer. The academy and young players in general have given much to the Town cause over the years and its only appropriate that we give our best wishes for their futures.

We should remember that players are sometimes let go because someone else is judged to be ahead of them or we are surplus in that position...

Today's headline story going about has a reference linking us to Mackail-Smith who didn't play league football till he was twenty something, so maybe this lad could still come good.
So negative comments aren't really needed and show you up for what you are

It's important for the club as well as the players that released players go on to have a future... it means we will continue to attract quality young players.
