Lisbie Could Join Millwall Permanently
Lisbie Could Join Millwall Permanently
Thursday, 5th May 2011 14:30

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett says on-loan Town striker Kevin Lisbie could join the Lions permanently in the summer. Lisbie, 32, is being released by the Blues at the end of the season.

Jackett said: “We will be talking to Kevin and I’ve already had a conversation with him, but we will finish the season and then I’ll speak to him again then.

“He is on a season-long loan and will be in and around here for quite a number of weeks anyway to get over his [ankle] injury. But to all intents and purposes he is still an Ipswich player.”

Lisbie has already said he'd like to stay at the Den: "I sat down with the manager just before this injury and we had a good chat about the future and I was delighted to be told that they'd like to offer me a contract to stay beyond this season, but that was before the injury.

"Hopefully, things haven't changed too much when we sit down at the end of the season and we can agree a new contract because ideally I'd love to stay here."

Colchester United, from whom Town signed Lisbie for £750,000 in the summer of 2008 and where he spent last season on loan, have said they could be interested in re-signing the former Jamaica international.

Still an Ipswich player lol! We all knew we'd seen the back of him when this loan was first agreed last year!

People do forget what he contributed in the 08/09 season, not masses but played his part. Obviously its fizzled out and I'm very glad to see the back of him but give him some credit.

We always seem to be paying for players, even if the fee is small i.e Kennedy, who didn't have long on his contract.

Where we always seem to let ours go for free. Every F*cking time.

Surely it would have been better to say you can have Lisbe for a small fee than letting him go for free.
Or Norris we turned down bids ands now he's gunna walk for free.

Sorry for the rant, its just we always get ripped off for players while we can't make any momeny. I'd be livid if I was M. Evans. And lets not forget he doesn't have to stick around he can buy a diffrent club. And his money isn't an endless pit.

Also don't mind Lisbie going but think he could have done a good job under Jewell. He scored alot for Col U. With the right service.

We are struggling to score goals yet we loan out a striker to a team above us in the table where he does pretty well.

Something not right here.

Lisbie will not score anywhere near the goals we need...millwall are welcome to him...he will be detrimental to their cause!

another crap buy... good riddance i say.. lets find people who want to wear the shirt!!! We need to start making money on transfers, the last time we did was walters, but its so rare for us to make money on transfers.

Jim's worst signing by a country mile! And to think we were supposed to believe he was as good as that Greek bloke! Another second choice.

He was disrespectful about the club and the supporters. He's a waste of space, who reached his peak sitting on Charlton's bench.

Goodbye, (at this point I would usually say good luck, but I wish that hideous footballer no luck at all, and lets face it, he will be playing non-league football with 2 years.

So sod off

Not really bothered where he goes. Yes it didn't work out and he wanted to leave, but he could have gone about it in a much better way. No need for the disrespectful comments. Glad this summer will draw a line under the whole thing...
