O'Connor Set for Second Crawley Trial Game
O'Connor Set for Second Crawley Trial Game
Friday, 22nd Jul 2011 11:47

Shane O’Connor is set to play the second game of his trial spell with Crawley Town when the League Two new boys take on Crystal Palace in a friendly at the Broadfield Stadium this evening. TWTD revealed that the Republic of Ireland U21 international was on trial with Crawley yesterday.

O’Connor impressed in his first game for the Red Devils, scoring one of the goals in an 8-1 thrashing of East Grinstead Town on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old has another year left on his Blues contract but appears to be out of manager Paul Jewell's future plans.

Sad...I think he would have made it given the opportunity, he's so young still.

Yeah this one's a bit of a disappointment. Always looked a good prospect whenever he played in the 1st team. PJ knows better than us of course.

this is a weird one, hes looked good when i have seen him play, but Liverpool let him go with no offer of a contract, i think he had a couple of trials before we took him on, and PJ seems happy to let him go..... maybe not a great person to have about for some reason?

We're going to regret losing O'Connor. A decent prospect. Totally baffled by PJ's decision to sideline him. Must be something else behind this, other than his performances on the pitch.

Baffling - BUT must be something going on that we are not aware of.
