Hull Confirm Bullard Suspension
Hull Confirm Bullard Suspension
Friday, 22nd Jul 2011 13:58

Hull City have confirmed that they have suspended former Town loanee Jimmy Bullard in a terse statement released this afternoon. News of the two-week suspension, which is believed to relate to a disciplinary issue on the club’s pre-season trip to Slovenia, first broke on Wednesday evening.

The Tigers statement reads: “Hull City AFC can confirm that Jimmy Bullard has been suspended pending an enquiry into recent events.

“The club will be completing the investigation before making any further comment.”

Hull are desperate to offload the 32-year-old's £45,000-a-week contract which has two years to run and which makes up 21% of their wage bill.

Both Town and QPR have been unable to agree terms with the Tigers for the one-time England call-up this summer.

No clearer evidence needed that his Hull days are numbered, I wonder if PJ will be on the phone this afternoon!!

why settle a contract when you can sack someone instead.

Wonder if Hull are trying to get Jimmy's contract terminated without having to pay him off. Nasty if so

seems to me their tactic is to p**s him off to the point where he will rip his contract up.good luck to them but i dont think hes that stupid.i wudnt be surprised if he just sits it out for 2 years without playin another game.if he really wants to play football he'll rip it up and sign for somebody else on a smaller wage.if he doesnt then its all about the money

Sign him up, sign him up, sign him up!

For me, an Ipswich team with Jimmy Bullard to compliment the likes of Bowyer, Leadbitter, Chopra etc can be a force this season. Without him we look every bit midtable. See his infulence last season as an example. So Mr Evans, appease the fans after the Wickham sale by bringing Bullard in and watch us fly!

Off the field he is also a right character. PJ has already said the squad is too quiet and team morale can go a long way towards getting a talented squad performing.

This does smack of try and get someone sacked for gross misconduct to avoid a payout.

If they do sack him, it will inevitably end up in court which will mean he won't be able to play for anyone else until the case has been heard?

if youre right Jimmyjazz then it becomes a matter of principle, and i would expect JB to sit it out for the first year at least...... then rip it up and move on a more realisitc deal..... or come to us on deadline day!

Toff - we're not going to pay him £45k a week, so that's simply not a flyer.
But I do think he might still end up here. This is obviously either a ploy by Hull to piss him off, or by JB to piss Hull off - either way designed to force the issue.

I still don't know why we all three of us can't sit down and work this out.
Hull give £2m to Jimmy as a farewell fee, we give them a £1m transfer fee, and offer Jimmy £20k a week for two years and a promotion bonus of £500,000.
That way, Jimmy gets his current salary (if we get promoted in the next two years) and Hull end up paying out only £1m of the £4.5m they are committed to.

Everyone is happy...

two sides to every story fella...

Whilst it smacks of Hull trying to get him out I was told be a direct source (none of this my mate down the chip shop said) that he was a complete mess at the Ipswich End of season do and projectile vomiting everywhere.

Whilst I've been in this state myself (on more than one occassion!), it does paint a picture of Jimmy, which might not be acceptable if there were certain rules applied.

Even if we do sign him, it still doesn't get past the fact that we would have to pay him a small fortune to sign him and as much as he bring to the team, I think his wages and his injury record are enough to say no to a permanent deal.

Hull FC are not going to just 'give' JB £2million.. That on top of his weekly salary at ITFC would make him extremley inviting to our good friends at HM Revenue and Customs I can assure you. We should let Jimmy know We'd pay him £25,000 a week and tell him to sort his release at Hull. Simple.

I am afraid I would give JB a wide berth. In fact I am fed-up of reading about him. We have already signed one injury-prone 30+ year old this summer and with Jimmy's dodgy knees this could be very risky. People are deluded if they think he will take a massive pay cut to join us or choose us over QPR. Jimmy did very well for us - but there appears to be a number of issues with him - including the fact he seemed to totally dismiss us earlier in the season when he thought a Premier League move was an option.

Agree Jimmy Jazz Hull could be playing dirty tricks and is a way out for them to terminate his contract. I would love him to come here but not on £25K a week as suggested on an earlier post. There is no doubt Jimmy played a massive part in keeping us up last season and without him we looked non creative. If its not Bullard we still need a craftsman - lots to do PJ and little time to do it in.

Superfrans added 16:29 - Jul 22
Mr Evans - read my entire comment. Hull "Give" Jimmy £2m, they take £1m from us - which leaves JB costing them £1m rather than the £4.5m he will cost them over the next couple of years. He's clearly not happy at Hull and they wont get value from him. They need to cut their losses.

I suspect the only reason this is dragging on is because Hull want to hold out for the best possible deal. A game of "first person to blink" between Hull and Jimmy.

Don't need this crock.

There's been no dirty tricks by Hull City.. The club handed Bullard a second chance, he's been fully involved in pre-season and went to the training camp in Slovenia, unlike last season, when he was frozen out and forced to train with the youth team..

Thing is with JB.. he's gotta a problem with drink

He messed up in Slovenia, stayed in his bed one morning after a night on the lash.. and he turned to training earlier this week in a mess after getting a taxi to Hull from a London nightclub.. Rumour has it, he squared up to Nigel Pearson and made an @rse of himself.. lets face it, if he got decked by Nick Barmby I wouldn't fancy his chances against Pearson..

If you want the waster at your club, then fill your boots.. In the meantime the clubs lawyers are no doubt trying to get his contract terminated presumably for persistent breach of club discipline..

I personally think the fella needs to get help.. a month or two in rehab would be a good place to start..

Your fooling yourselves by thinking he would come here instead of a premiership side . i bet the budgie botherers are watching how this unfolds and he would rather pkay in the premiership than championship, He will use itfc as a bargaining tool if needs be, but he wont come here.Hope i'm wrong but we'll have to wait and see.

Jimmy is not playing the game.

Hull don't want him because he is too expensive. Nobody wants him because he is too expensive. His salary is 3 times greater than anyone is willing to pay.

So, he has the chance of being reviled at Hull and sit on his ridiculous salary
or playing football.

To do this he needs to cancel his contract and move to ITFC at a salary of 10,000 a month.

Does the man have personal values?
