Town Edge Closer to Sixth and Seventh Signings
Town Edge Closer to Sixth and Seventh Signings
Monday, 25th Jul 2011 13:36

Town are edging closer to completing the signings of Fulham keeper David Stockdale and Arsenal midfielder or striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. We understand the duo are at the club this afternoon with the Blues hopeful of finalising their sixth and seventh new additions of the summer later today.

A £1.1 million fee is believed to have been agreed with the Gunners for Emmanuel-Thomas with talks and a medical taking place today.

Loanee Stockdale is set to sign on a season-long loan but with the Cottagers demanding a recall clause in case of injury time first choice Mark Schwarzer.

Town hope the pair will sign in time to feature in Tuesday’s pre-season friendly against Colchester United (KO 7.45pm).

Fans travelling to Colchester without tickets should note they need to buy one at the Ticket Office at the Weston Homes Community Stadium before they can enter via the turnstiles. A Blues following of more than 1,200 is expected to travel to the north Essex club.

Is Fullop a Championship reserve goalie? No, and if he is not No.1 then perhaps its time to move him on and save the wages but Stockdale's recall clause leaves us vunerable like the Begovic loan. Defenders must be a priority now, a quality CB and perhaps a RB. COYB!

Eurosport are saying that Ingarmarsson is out for the Bristol game

Pleased with these two players just need 2CB and midfielder in the same class and we may just be up there with the rest

Ok. Plenty of attacking options, like it like it. Now turn your focus to the cart horses of our central defense - Best of luck the clock is ticking.

Amazing to think that we've signed 7 players (almost) and yet we all agree we need a CB, a RB and preferably a creative midfielder. So, we needed 10 new players! Doesn't say much for the team built by the previous management!

Nice one defenders next please . Anyone know how much tickets are for colchester game ?

Weapon & Gypo ... Col Yoo tickets are £15 ... Not 100% sure about the parking details but the parking is poor and the ground is on the outskirts of town on an industrial estate. Possibly permit only, but dont quote me on that!! The best option is to go by train, as they run a shuttle bus service from near the station to and from the ground.

Wish they would get on with and sign, between this and the cricket productivity is massively down today

Hmmm is there a method to getting all the positions sorted except the ones that we so obviously need.... will it be easier to ask for more money to fix the defence if we are scoring freely?
Creative midfielder... someone on loan perhaps... I wonder who that might be....?

There is parking at the ground but arrive early as there is only one way in and out. I believe it was a tenner a go for league games 'on the day' a fiver in advance.
As mentioned earlier the shuttle from the station is good but they are mixed which might be a concern with some of the idiots that follow the U's.
