Academy keeper Cody Cropper kept a clean sheet as the US U18s started their Milk Cup campaign with a 2-0 victory over Israel last night. Caolan Lavery and Cormac Burke’s Northern Ireland side got off to a less impressive beginning to their campaign in the Elite section of the youth tournament they are hosting, drawing 1-1 with Denmark.

Cropper’s US side next take on Mexico in Coleraine on Wednesday with Northern Ireland up against Georgia in Ballymena. The sides could meet in the play-off games on Friday.

Town’s U15s began their quest to win the Junior competition with a 1-0 victory over US side the South Coast Strikers. They face County Antrim in Limavady in their second game this lunchtime.
