Finidi George and his Nigerian team-mates are at the centre of a cash row which may see their game with Japan at Southampton this Sunday postponed.

The Nigerian Football Association are offering the players a £1,400 bonus for the game, however coach Amodu Shaibu wants £2,000 for his lads.

Shaibu said: "There is no way I can ask the players to accept $2,000 to feature in the match. With $3,000, I can convince them to accept it."

The non-British-based members of the Nigeria squad are expected to fly here today for the game.

Chris Hogg played for the England U17s last night as they beat Spain 3-2 last night at Ashton Gate.
