Griffiths to Join Plymouth on Loan
Griffiths to Join Plymouth on Loan
Wednesday, 31st Aug 2011 14:00

Midfielder Jamie Griffiths is joining League Two Plymouth Argyle on a month's loan. The 19-year-old has made one senior appearance for the Blues, as a late sub in the Carling Cup tie at home to Northampton last season.

Griffiths says he's glad to be making the move: "I'm looking forward to going to Plymouth. It's a chance to play some first team football and that's what I need."

The Bury-born player came through the youth system at Portman Road, turning professional in the summer of 2010.

The winger missed Paul Jewell’s opening months as manager of the Blues due to a stress fracture to his back but was offered a six-month contract.

Griffiths will be reunited with former team-mate Conor Hourihane at Home Park, the Irishman having joined the Pilgrims on a permanent basis during pre-season.

Why do all these players join plymouth? they haven't paid any wages in about 8 months... Or have they officially been taken over now?

why only 1 month? i mean hes not exactly going to be playing for us much this season!

marc96 - presumably because Plymouth want to have a look before committing for any longer. One of the problems of the lack of reserve team football is lower league teams can't scout our ressies very well.

Loving the fact that they've also paid £20m for Leadboots as part of the deal,
Oh sorry was making that up, but that's the one person I'd want to see moved on today!!!

Peter Crouch on loan or if possible ... permanent. I mean I know QPR are loaded, but to be honest who would you choose QPR or the Blues. Jimmy Bullard did this come Town lets buy him now :)

Some one here commented (I cant remember who it was), that Plymouth has not paid wages in 8 months, so how do we expect to get paid?

I am looking at it more like this "IF" we are still paying his wages while at plymouth, its not going to break the bank. How much can a teenager who at best plays reserve football for us be on? 500 a week tops is my guess. Surely taking a step up and playing 2nd div football rather than no football here, will help his education a bit, which in the end should help us to finding out if he is worth an extension to his current 6 month contract.

What is Jason Scotland doing in Trinidad if we're going to try and sell him? What is he doing there if we're trying to get him fit?

Looks like more loans if we are to strenghten. Is this the way we want to do thigs, PJ?

Being wanted is so important.

It puts the extra 10% into whatever you do. What a wonderful opportunity
