Carson Impressive in U21s Monday, 5th Sep 2011 10:42 Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington says an impressive performance for the U21s in their 1-0 defeat in Serbia on Friday was what led to Town midfielder Josh Carson’s elevation to the senior squad for Tuesday’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Estonia in Tallinn. Worthington says his U21 coach had praise for the 18-year-old after Friday’s game: “Steve Beaglehole has informed me Josh performed particularly well in Serbia with the U21s. “I have watched him a few times at Ipswich already this season and what Steve said about him backed up what I had already seen. “He gives us good options both on the right and left wing. He has great energy and he can get you a goal. “He has been in the group before during the Carling Nations Cup and showed his talent then so if called upon, I’m sure he will do well.” Carson, who has previously won two full caps, has made one start and three sub appearances for the Blues so far this season.
