Agent Confirms Hreidarsson Interest

Hermann Hreidarsson's agent has confirmed that there is interest in the Icelander from clubs both in the Premiership and abroad. There were reports this morning that Arsenal might beinterested in Hermann, but the agent is not naming any clubs.

Olafur Gardarsson, a lawyer as well as acting as an agent for several Icelandic stars including Hreidarsson and Eidur Gudjohnsen, said that Hermann is happy at Town, but that there had been interest in him.

The agent said: "I can only confirm that there is interest from other clubs but that's often the case in England without anything happening. There is interest for him from at least two other Premiership clubs."

Hermann himself told TWTD at the beginning of the season that last season was his "best ever" and that he had settled well at Town. The £4.5 million signing is currently contracted until the end of the 2004/05 season and it would take a pretty big offer for Town to let him go.

Gardarsson added that his client had not asked for a transfer and indeed never has at any previous club.

The Icelandic agent also acts for Eggart Steffansson , the young centre half from FC Fram that Town are to take on trial. Steffensson is due to be at Town from October 14th, although there is interest from other clubs, notably Norwegians Rosenborg.
