Jewell: Loan Offers Turned Down
Jewell: Loan Offers Turned Down
Thursday, 22nd Sep 2011 11:30

Blues boss Paul Jewell has revealed he has turned down a couple of loan offers but says he would be prepared to let some of his fringe players spend time elsewhere. Last week midfielder Andy Drury joined Crawley on loan, while youngster Jamie Griffiths is with Plymouth.

Jewell said: “I spoke to a couple of lads who are on the fringe of it and said to them that if people come in for them and if that suits them and it suits us we would consider it. I want them to be playing first team football.

“We’ve got quite a big squad here, so we’ve got a lot of players who are on the fringe so if the opportunity comes and it suits us and suits them, then we’ll listen to it.”

But the Blues boss says not all offers are acceptable: “We’ve had a couple of clubs asking about one or two players that I’ve said no to.

“I’m not going to let everybody go but certain situations might change. I don’t think anyone’s going to come in between now and Saturday.”

“I'm not going to let everybody go..." - few, thank the good Lord for that, we'd get docked points for turning up at 'Boro with no players.
