Peters Joins Bournemouth
Peters Joins Bournemouth
Thursday, 22nd Sep 2011 18:25

Out-of-favour midfielder or full-back Jaime Peters has joined League One Bournemouth on loan for a month. Peters has rarely featured since Paul Jewell took over as manager with his only appearance this season the Carling Cup defeat to Northampton.

The Canadian international, who has previously spent time on loan at Yeovil and Gillingham, is likely to make his debut for Bournemouth when they play Hartlepool at home on Saturday.

The 24-year-old, capped by his country on 26 occasions, has been given permission to play for the Cherries in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Town's longest-serving current player, Peters, who is contracted to the Blues until 2013, has made 71 starts and 43 sub appearances, scoring four goals, since making his debut at home to Cardiff on the opening day of the 2005/06 season.

Good Luck Jaime, they'll love you down there - hope they play you in defensive midfield as you are perfect for that role!

All the best! Onwards and upwards!

Jamie Peters was the new Messiah back in Jim Magilton's day when we had no money. We must have waited 2 months before he could get a visa to come over, all for a transfer fee of around £50,000 I seem to remember. Never really played in his best postion, but always gave his best. Unfortunately in a team of players worth (on paper) 1-2 £M his best is no longer good enough. Good luck at Bournemouth, at least its by the seaside!

Sigh. Young, pacy, hungry - isn't that what Jewell wants? Give him a chance and don't play him at full back. I remember him even playing behind the strikers against Leeds at home last year and being superb.

PSG - Think he was signed by Big Joe. Seem to remember he had a trial with Man Utd!!

I think he deserves a chance and seems to get his head down and get on with things.

Good luck JP.

You would think after 7 years with the club people would stop writing JAMIE!!

Ah, so he is still about. Well, its certainly a shame he has been out of favour and, as a result hasn't been played. Can't have done his form or confidence any good. I have never really understood this really, since the last time I saw him (yes, during THAT game) he really was awesome. I know he is a right midfielder, but he does seem to work very well at right back. Plus has the pace to get back after drifting forward... not knocking edwards, he is doing good things down the right side, but never seems to be quite far back enough on the counter attack.
That being said, when I think about it, this month long loan could be the best thing for him. Should get him some games, and after that he should be back up to a level which could see him reenter the team. Always a good idea to get someone else to pay you to get your players fit. I for one hope to see him make a return to first team football... or at least to the bench

Foot_kick_ball_goal - glad you're not the man who picks the team, no offense.

Good luck Jaime, you are better than Reserve football

Why, have they got a reserve team short in players as well (short being the operative word)

Good luck JP, pity PJ didn't give you a fair crack. I hope you wow them on the South coast.

His performance against Northampton was nothing short of woeful... Had been a fan, but really he has not stepped up

So no more loans in or out, as Jewell said earlier. We can add 'liar' to his ever growing list of faults.

Finally he's gone. Fleeced our club for 7 years. League 2 is his level. Couldn't trap a medicine ball.

We need players that keep the ball. The kick and chasers like him will never get us anywhere. Millwall, Chelsea and Forest was all that it took Jewell last season to realise that he's not upto it. Oh and Northampton this season.... woeful.

Daleyitfc....you need to go back and reread the last "update" before you start calling anyone liars....PJ is reported to have said noone coming in.....but if situations changed some could go!!!
Perhaps you can chat to PJ about it when he gets off the bus at Middlesborough on Saturday!!!

I for one am really dissappointed about Jamie .....always looked committed but never truely fulfilled his potential and that must be as frustrtaing for him as it os for us.....also cant help but think there must be something else that we supporters dont see....you cant fall out of favour with that many managers as bad luck!!!

Sorry Daley where does it say no more loans going out cos I thought I read that pj would consider offers if they suited the player and suited itfc. Perhaps you could add ignorance to the ever growing list you seem to have conjured up for your self. If I had to make a choice between this manager and certain supporters on this site I know what I'd do. I used to be proud to call myself a fan of itfc but there seems to be an ever-growing section of fans seem hell bent on criticising anyone to do with the club! Sad times.

Peters was as good as any of our players against Chelsea!

Badly treated by both Keane and Jewell in my view.

Probably best for both parties he moves on but its a shame his obvious potential has never been brought on!

Although Peters was very very poor at right-back, I think as an impact player he is an ideal squad player. Yet again some hypocritical comments on here - people who slated Roy for not playing him are now suggesting PJ is right to get rid! How does that work?!

Think PJ is yet again wrong here. However, if not in Paul's plan this is a good move for Jamie and I wish him luck.

I always rated JP. Lets hope he gets regular games and prove to PJ that he is worth a go in our team. I predict he will become a key player for us later in season.

I wish you well Jaime. Let's hope that you dazzle at Bournemouth and then get back into the squad.

Daley. Thought you were going to be away a while. Can,t say i,ve missed your miserable fizzog on here spouting the usual negative drivel. Good luck Jaime, i think you will find your natural level at Bournmouth, but wish you all the best. Not quite up to consistant championship performances imo, but always gives 100%.
