Carson Skippers Northern Irish Youngsters Wednesday, 5th Oct 2011 17:44 Town midfielder Josh Carson will captain Northern Ireland’s U19s when they take on Germany in the opening game of their European Championships qualifying mini-group in Coleraine on Thursday. Blues academy midfielder Cormac Burke is also in the squad. Carson, who has already won caps at U21 and senior levels, said: “I’m very proud to be captain. Representing Northern Ireland is brilliant as well, but being captain just gives it that extra buzz. “It is a very tough start. Germany are always a good side with really good players that they always develop, you see their national team at the minute, they’re unbelievable.” The Northern Irish youngsters take on Belarus on Saturday and Montenegro on Tuesday, both in Belfast. Meanwhile, Town owner Marcus Evans is 19th in this year’s FourFourTwo Football Rich List with his wealth estimated at £625 million, the figures presumably having been drawn from the Sunday Times Rich List in May.
