Friday, 21st Oct 2011 16:38

Academy first-year scholar Jonny Leddy played the full 80 minutes as the Republic of Ireland U17 side drew 1-1 with hosts Kazakhstan in their second European Championship mini-group game in Almaty this afternoon.

The midfielder, who netted a penalty in his team’s 8-0 victory over Liechtenstein in their opening match on Wednesday, was winning his fourth U17 cap.

Leddy and his team-mates Ireland face the Czech Republic in their final game on Monday and look set to go through to the next stage of qualifying.
