Town, Coventry and Leeds are all reported to be interested in adding 19-year-old Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner to their squads, the Premier League side having made the England U21 international available for loan.

Central midfielder Gardner, the brother of Sunderland midfielder Craig, came through the ranks at Villa Park like his older sibling.

He has played for England at U17, U19, U20 and U21 level and the 6ft 2in tall youngster broke into the Villa first team in pre-season but is yet to make a competitive club appearance.

Gardner recently netted two late goals after coming on as a sub in the England U21 side’s 5-0 victory over Iceland at the Weston Homes Community Stadium in Colchester, a game watched by Blues assistant manager Chris Hutchings and coach Sean McCarthy.

Thursday is the final day on which Football League clubs can sign players on loan, with the deadline 5pm.

Only loan if we have guaranteed chance to sign him if he impresses in January. Can't deal more loan players coming, impressing, then leaving!

Garv - can't see Villa letting him go perm, a real prospect by all acoounts. If we loan him i hope it's on the basis that he's here for the rest of the season.

Heady- Hyam is Good enough hasnt had a decent run of games to prove it, when he did play he did well i thought, if he did have a off day he was hauled off pretty quickly, if that happened now in our current run of form then only stockdale, cressy and chopra would be on the team sheet!...my point is all of our midfield and defesive players have had shockers of late....he deserves a chance to prove himself

I like the way that people write FACT at the end of a sentence as if it kills off any other point-of-view.

Hyam, Ronin Murry, O'Connor all deserve a proper chance.

MirrorFootball - "TRANSFER! Coventry sign Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner on loan for a month"

More convenient for him, remaining in the Midlands.
