Town's reserves drew 2-2 with Wimbledon last night at Kingstonian. This report is from the Message Board, posted by Kingston.

In a scrappy first half Ipswich went ahead through Darren Bent after 30 minutes after he harried the Wimbledon defence to cause an error upon which he shot straight past oncoming keeper Shane Gore.

Playing Andy Marshall, Erdum Artun, Gary Croft, Ashley Nicholls, Justin Miller, Thomas Gaardsoe, Darren Ambrose, Tommy Miller, Darren Bent, Pablo Counago and Amir Karic, Ipswich were going for the jugular from the start. Unfortunately they could hold this dominance for a few minutes only before Wimbledon found their feet. Both sets of attackers looked dangerous from the off with Adam Nowland standing out for the home team and Darren Bent for the visitors.

Pablo Counago had a quiet start to the game before turning a more impressive performance in the second half while earning a yellow card. Amir Karic was playing as a wide left midfielder and this time it wasn't so much his crossing letting him down as his passing and movement.

On 40 minutes the already mentioned Adam Nowland scored with a deflected shot the shot past Marshall and we went in at the break at 1-1.

After some cold chips at half-time the game started at a much quicker pace with Wimbledon having the run of things soon after the arrival of Terry Burton. Just when Ipswich were beginning to pick it up Wimbledon scored around 13 minutes into the second half with some good passing and a good finish from Rob Gier.

Ipswich soon got it together and were back on level terms soon after with a good shot from the edge of the box, Counago scored and it was a good goal originating from a corner.

With about 15 minutes to go Abidallah and Beevers were introduced to the fray although quiet to star Abidallah turned it on just at the death running across the area to set up Counago, unfortunately the shot was blocked before it could hit the target.

Overall Counago had a good second half and is definitely going to come good, Tommy Miller was quite quiet overall and will take longer to settle. Gaardsoee looks extremely comfortable at the back but will take time to come into the 1st 11. Not a bad match overall and good value entertainment.
