Bowyer Set to Miss Return to Leeds
Thursday, 19th Jan 2012 13:13
Veteran midfielder Lee Bowyer looks certain to miss Town's trip to his old club Leeds on Saturday with his groin injury. Better news for manager Paul Jewell is that Grant Leadbitter (hip), Damien Delaney (foot) and Jason Scotland (hamstring) are all back in training
Jewell said: “Lee Bowyer trained on Monday but felt a reaction at the end of training, so he’s had an injection in his groin, which will probably rule him out for the weekend.
“Grant’s trained this morning, as have Damien Delaney and Jason Scotland as well. So except for Lee Bowyer, we’ve basically got a full squad.”

Oh, "Better news" is probably not the way to explain Leadhead and Donkey's potential returns.

Injection in his groin?! Owww!
Scotland could be the difference between us winning and losing. Gotta last 90 bloody minutes though!

Very true Garv! Bit of an eye watering job me thinks. Also totally agree we'd do better if Scotland lasted the 90. At least we haven't got Priskin for a comedy cameo anymore hey?

Good Good!! Dont want a dirty OAP in midfield thank you Jewell.

Stisk with same as last week no leadboots play hyam & drury again. Murray on bench instead of wellington.

thought he had missed every game since august.......
Marshalls_Mullet added 13:54 - Jan 19
Damn..... at first glance seeing 'Bowyer' and 'return to Leeds' in the same sentence got my hopes up.

If PJ drops anyone to play Leadbitter, or Delaney, based on last week's display, he should be sacked immediately.

Looks like he should be handing out copies of Big Issue.

Another waste of time.

NitroBlue1970! What a stupid thing to say... fair play to Bowyer he has been one of our better players when fit this season. Leave Leadbitter out, bench at best. give the young guns another go.
Sindre94 added 14:13 - Jan 19
Hes been decent to be fair, shame to lose him..
But please DROP leadbitter for good
hogster1970 added 14:15 - Jan 19
i agree with old clacton, if leadboots is in the starting 11 then jewel defo has lost the plot, as our midfield has no bite to it at all when he is playing, and i thought smith had a reasonable game on sat, he scored a goal, and put in a good shift, the last goal wasnt total down to himselve which we conceded, but jewel defo needs to get edwards to stick close buy there left winger as to often he comes in field or is to far upfield, with no one covering.

Hope Scotland is fit to play. I'd not change the team, and would have Leadbitter and Delaney on the bench

Rossm..being one of our better players this season isn't difficult. Haven't seen Bowyer hunting down the ref, arguing or being the petulant hot headed player we all knew and loved and Leeds, Newcastle and Birmingham city. He had passion and desire...now he doesn't, IMO, which is what this forum is all about after all. Are you Woodgate in disguise?

only a fool would revert back to players and a system we were getting thumped every week with.
Keep it the same as last week or collect your p-45 on sunday

Old clacton, spot on, leave them on the bench, start as last game, Scotty if he is fit is key up front, if not get chops really up for it & give him a chance.
The blacpool game showed more desire & comittment in the midfield than has been seen for ages at PR, leadboots needs to sit & watch form the dugout & see what he needs to do as does LB!
Long live the youthfull revolution......

Bring back OAPs we will lose 6-0 Jewell will be sacked
Rossm added 14:33 - Jan 19
Nitro... In my opinion, your opinion is wrong, but heyho. I have seen him celebrate goals this season like he had scored them. and im not sure many people did love him when he was at Leeds or Newcastle....

No great loss, another poor signing and has denied a younger player like Hyam a starting spot this season, hopefully Jewell won't give him another contract.

What's a waste of time Jas?
I think its you who's losing the plot now, you're posts don't even make sense.

Just think of all the money we are wasting with Bullard and Bowyer they spend all their time injured, or pissed.
AlanMahon2011 added 18:23 - Jan 19
I'm surprised Bowyer hasn't chucked the towel in yet.
