Veteran midfielder Lee Bowyer looks certain to miss Town's trip to his old club Leeds on Saturday with his groin injury. Better news for manager Paul Jewell is that Grant Leadbitter (hip), Damien Delaney (foot) and Jason Scotland (hamstring) are all back in training

Jewell said: “Lee Bowyer trained on Monday but felt a reaction at the end of training, so he’s had an injection in his groin, which will probably rule him out for the weekend.

“Grant’s trained this morning, as have Damien Delaney and Jason Scotland as well. So except for Lee Bowyer, we’ve basically got a full squad.”

hogster1970 added 14:15 - Jan 19 i agree with old clacton, if leadboots is in the starting 11 then jewel defo has lost the plot, as our midfield has no bite to it at all when he is playing, and i thought smith had a reasonable game on sat, he scored a goal, and put in a good shift, the last goal wasnt total down to himselve which we conceded, but jewel defo needs to get edwards to stick close buy there left winger as to often he comes in field or is to far upfield, with no one covering.

Haven't seen Bowyer hunting down the ref, arguing or being the petulant hot headed player we all knew and loved and Leeds, Newcastle and Birmingham city. He had passion and desire...now he doesn't, IMO, which is what this forum is all about after all. Are you Woodgate in disguise?

The blacpool game showed more desire & comittment in the midfield than has been seen for ages at PR, leadboots needs to sit & watch form the dugout & see what he needs to do as does LB! Long live the youthfull revolution......
