Thomas Gaardsøe could make his debut for Town on Saturday if injury worry John McGreal fails to make it. The ex-Tranmere man has a back problem which sees him as George Burley's biggest doubt.

The Town manager says that he feels Gaardsøe is more than ready to play in the first team: "Thomas is young and enthusiastic who has a lot of quality. He has played well in several reserve games and I wouldn't be frightened to put him in. "They will want to keep things tight, as you would after conceding a few goals away from home."

Of West Ham he added: "They have struggled away but have had players sent off early in a couple of those matches which hasn't helped. We will aim to put them under pressure and get our passing game going."
