50% Off for Rearranged Game
Saturday, 11th Feb 2012 16:55

Town have confirmed that fans who had tickets for today’s abandoned match against Middlesbrough will be given 50% off the full price of a seat for the rearranged game.

Referee Dean Whitestone called this afternoon’s match off after 37 minutes with the pitch becoming more unplayable due to sub-zero temperatures as the game progressed.

The new date for the match is yet to be set.

If this is how the club treats supporters then this is the last time I attend a game I want a refund for the ticket I bought 4 days ago.

This is absolutely disgraceful. Clegg should be ashamed and have the gumption to make his own decisions rather than hide behind "regulations". The man is a joke. This is no way to attract fans back. Why should fans pay extra because of a seriously flawed inspection process that allowed the game to start in the first place? The club have lost seriously touch with the fans over the past few years and this is just another example.

although i totally understand the match officals make the call today,mr clegg here is a day in a life of a supporter trying to get to a match,
try to swap weekend callout with other employees,
1.5 hours travel each way ,
pay premiership prices for tickets,
today we have 2 inspections of the pitch (radio glued to ear)
family become second best on saturdays,
all to be told the game is called off 30 mins after kick off ,
the weather has`nt changed all week surely you get a local ref to inspect the pitch on fri at the same time as kick off .

Absolute disgrace!! not the best PR exercise is it ITFC? I'm fuming, was'nt it supposed to bring the dissilusioned thousands back? instead you are driving them away. least you could do is give us half our ticket price back. NOT HAPPY!

London based Town fan here......I make it that if the rearranged fixture is a midweek game, if I want to take advantage of the 'half price' bargain, I'll have forked out £110 just to get to Ipswich and into the game. Disgrace.

Clegg out, PR disaster. Get a grip on reality man, you probably earn more in a week than most HARD working supporters earn in a year. Get your pompous head out of your arse. Fans can,t expect to pay for a product that was faulty, in this case 40% of a football match. In any other retail sector, a full refund or a free replacement would be given. Get in a proper football person Evans or i fear for the future.

I think the Sale of Goods and Services Act 1974 should get everyone who did not receive what it said on the label a full refund or an exchange of today's ticket for one that does what it should, allows you to watch a full football match. It does not matter what the club or the FA say, they are covered by the said act as anyone else who sells goods or services, I believe.

A 50% discount a joke. I hope the fans stay away from the re-arranged game in protest. Paying to see 37 minutes and then forced to pay again is just plain greed from the club. Mr Clegg / Mr Evans - you have made it clear that it was not the clubs fault that the game was called off - but it is not the FANS fault either, yet you seem intent on grabbing as much money from them as possible!!! Disgraceful.

I think you just needed to watch the England rugby in Rome straight after to see how much of a complete joke this was - if they actually want people to start coming to watch town play again they'll need to do better than charging 50%!
This 'ticket trial' game is going to effectively cost people 25% more than a normal match.

I doubt national express east anglia will be offering 50% off rail fares!
Admission should be free for fans who had a ticket simple as ! Never mind about league regulations and all that cra* it should be a good will gesture to fans who have watched a awfull load of shi* this season!

My son and I are blue through and through and like all supporters we have been tested since we have been saved by Mr Evans and his millions. We did everything we could checking the weather and checking the game was on before committing to buy 25% reduced price tickets. What Mr Clegg is overlooking is the other costs fuel, parking, programme, food and a wife and daughter watching a film in cine world while we watched the game ! I know no one can predict the weather and clubs have to earn money but 50% of equates to us having to pay 125% of the face value to watch a game. Nice one and this promotion is supposed to get the fans back.....Not! do the right thing like you did for the supporters !

Very poor public relations.
It's not just the cost of the ticket but also my travel costs of £20 and a wasted Saturday.

Tere are no League regualtions. The only Leagur regulation is that Town make their abandonment policy clear to ticket holders. It's entirely up to club.

Can anyone find ITFC policy int he small print?

was going to get a season ticket next season, i will stick to just going to the away fixtures like i do now. the club wont be seeing my money for a long time.
FYI i am a non season ticket holder have only missed one home game and three away.
in am sickened by the clubs attitude to the fans. this is not the family club i grew up loving.
