Cresswell Settled in Suffolk
Cresswell Settled in Suffolk

Left-back Aaron Cresswell says he’s happy and settled in Suffolk having moved into his first house earlier this week. Boss Paul Jewell revealed that the summer signing from Tranmere was saving for his first property late last year.

The 22-year-old told the club site: "I've just got myself a house down here and everything is sorted on that front.

“It was a bit daunting for me when I first moved down here in the summer but I'm settled in Ipswich and want to commit to the area.

"Things are going really well for me, both on and off the pitch, and feel at home here. There's no doubting that I'm enjoying my football here at Ipswich and long may it continue.

"We've been doing well recently and picked up some great results, but we need to make sure we keep this run going."

Cresswell extended his initial Town contract until 2015 in October with an option for a further season, having made a huge impression in the first few months after his move from Prenton Park.

The Liverpudlian cost the Blues a tribunal-set fee of £240,000 rising to £520,000 after various milestone clauses.

I spent a few days in Liverpool last year, my first trip to the city, and was hugely impressed. Very friendly people, amazing architecture, best range of cultural attractions that I've seen in an English city outside of London, and just basically had a great time. I'd move there tomorrow.

It didn't take long for this story to deteriorate into a slanging match did it?

Cresswell is the mutts nuts and to suggest that a fee of£240k rising to £500k is overpriced, is just laughable.

We have secured a young, hungry, solid defender, who is great attacking down the wing, a bloody brilliant crosser of the ball and even better at dead ball situations and without a shadow of a doubt, an absolute bargain and one of the best signings to be made by a manager at ITFC, for a very, very long time.

People who understand football, appreciate what a great signing this lad has been, but there are always a handful of miserable sods, who find something to moan about, no matter how positive the subject matter.

Well done Paul Jewell.....find us another few jewell's (excuse the pun) like Cresswell and you'll have your own statue outside the ground in a few years.

To be fair, I live in south London and have already been mugged once this year, so your 'undercurrent of crime' in Liverpool doesn't really scare me that much! Guess it's all relative.

Pique; I live in Manchester, but its more that Liverpool has a very visible gangster element. But a lot of that is due to its history with importing drugs etc, that brings a lot of the gun crime.

So its more the undercurrent of organised crime, rather than the odd mugging.

I am not anti Liverpool however.

Fair enough, although I should say that we can probably write the book on gang culture down here! Still, I guess every major city has its problems. Oh to live in rural Suffolk like a lot of posters on this site, eh?

I love Suffolk and not just because of Ipswich Town! As many people are probably aware I live In the Netherlands and have done for many years but if I was to choose a place in England to live again, my dream location would be East Anglia. Sadly however, as my wife is from Thailand, I think our next permanent home will be in South East Asia. My love of the club will remain however undiminshed - even if it does mean the chances of watching Town will be considerably reduced.

The first couple of comments don't know what they're talking about. Cresswell has the best left foot I've seen at the club for years.
