Carson Agrees Deal
Carson Agrees Deal
Thursday, 23rd Feb 2012 14:38

Town boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that midfielder Josh Carson has agreed his new contract and is set to put pen to paper this afternoon or if not in the next couple of days. The Northern Irishman’s new terms — an initial two-year deal with an option for a third season — have been close to completion for a number of weeks with a meeting with his agent Kevin Moran recently cancelled due to the bad weather.

But Jewell says that meeting, where the final details were ironed out, took place earlier this week: “I met his agent Kevin Moran on Tuesday and it’s all agreed. I think he’s going down the ground to sign it this afternoon.”

The 18-year-old Northern Ireland full international’s current contract is up at the end of June.

Keep the potential youngsters intact and build the team!

No more expensive & regretful buys, save those ridiculous transfer fees and offer our own players better terms for motivation

Great news. Now protect out other young assets like Martin, Smith and Hyam who are all going to be out of contract next season. I think those 3 plus Carson, JET and Cresswell should never be allowed to get so close to the end of their contracts as Carson has.

"He will never sign ","the youngsters are treated so badly "

If they are good enough they will get contract offers and play ,if they are not goodbye .
Well done Josh now get your head down ,get back in the team and make it hard to be dropped like Drury and Hyam have done and even Tommy

Excellent.

So much for all the doom and gloom merchants who said that he wouldn't sign.

At last it looks as though we have a team that want to be with us and playing for the badge. Good news. Up to you Josh, put your head down, graft and reap the rewards [ they do come to those who wait ].

I met Kevin Moran about 10 years ago when looking to rent a student house from him. Well worn path I guess for an ex pro, landlord and agent.

Good news if it happens. The Club's policy of freezing him out seems to have had the correct result. I honestly believe if he was in the shop window he would have been more likely to move on.

I really hope he signs it and quick. Now get him on the bench instead of Leadpants, he's the future of the club and will become a great player for this club in the future. No more messing around with young talent and buying idiots who just come for the pay day
