Carson Signs Deal
Carson Signs Deal
Thursday, 23rd Feb 2012 17:24

Midfielder Josh Carson has signed his new Town contract. The Northern Irishman has put pen to paper on two-year deal with an option for a third season.

Tweeting after signing in chief executive Simon Clegg's office this afternoon, Carson said: "Signed, sealed, delivered! Buzzing!"

Speaking to the club site, the 18-year-old added: "Obviously I'm delighted that it's done and dusted now and I've signed here for the next two years.

"I've not got involved in the negotiations, I've left that to my agent but there was never any doubt that I'd be staying here.

"I'm still only 18 and over the next two years I want to build on what I have done so far and get myself in the first-team week-in, week-out.

"That's my immediate target to play as much first team football as I can at Ipswich Town. I've come up through the ranks here and I really want to help the club push on."

Oh well, at least we might be able to get another club to pay money for him before he disappears into obscurity, like we did with Wickham. Will never be good enough.

MORE GOOD NEWS FROM PR. At last the penny has dropped...ITFC is again starting to look to youth and the longer term future. Next stage ME, Academy 1 and we can then start to dream? As for Josh, you now have to work your socks off to get on the bench and then the team.

Great news and I truly believe that you have made the right move Josh. There is now (good) competition for most places and it's not always predictable precisely when opportunities will come along...the key is to work hard and be ready for them.

Good news. Now work hard young man, learn & listen, then the rewards will be there for both ITFC & yourself. Daleyitfc, even when there is some good news, youre still a miserable sod. Give the lad a chance.

I hope he gets included on the bench, he may be able to come on and win a game. Whilst I highly doubt Leadbiter would be able to!! @Guthrum . yes he may be young but he's scored several goals (5) for us in relatively few appearances.
I take your point, but I reckon he is ready to at least be on the bench, for a genuine injection of pace, creativity and finese.

Get in! Fantastic news, now kick on Josh you can be what you want if you work hard, the talent is there. Still only 18 and learning but I haven't seen many players of your age in the Championship that are as good as you. Just what the club need. COYB

Hope he can get a place on the bench now
To those who say he should be in the 1st 11 who would you drop?

Please don't say Murphy as we need his hight in attack and defence

Daleyitfc :- The poor man's Victor Meldrew !

To those asking for Josh to be straight in the side, who would he replace ? Agree a place on the bench.
