QPR Eyeing JET as Blues Again Linked With Green
QPR Eyeing JET as Blues Again Linked With Green
Tuesday, 24th Apr 2012 00:53

QPR have joined Fulham in eyeing Blues midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, according to a tabloid report. Meanwhile, Derby’s Paul Green, who TWTD revealed was a potential Town target in January, is reportedly set to join the Blues this summer having turned down a contract at Pride Park.

Cottagers’ scouts have been regular visitors to Portman Road in recent months with former Arsenal youngster Emmanuel-Thomas the reason for their trips. Relegation-threatened QPR are now said to have joined them.

Irish international Green, 29, was brought to Derby from Doncaster by Paul Jewell during his time in charge of the Rams.

In January, the Blues boss confirmed that he had spoken to the Pontefract-born midfielder or right-back’s agent. Green has also been linked with Leeds United.

If we sold JET I would be devastated, Wickham was inevitably gonna go and the price tag was huge but this would just show a massive lack of ambition and get the one player who entertains on his own out the team.

I would be very disappointed if any truth in this.

If he's got any sense, which I do think he has (not sure he's the playboy, diamond in the ear Londoner everyone thinks he is) he'll stay here and progress by playing games regularly.

every player has a price, if we could double what we paid for him, i'd take it

You'd take 2 million pounds for him? Erm...why?

if an offer he jet comes in that is acceptable we as a club have a duty to allow jet to make up his own mind. yes hope he stays but it would be down to him to make that decision.

I hope JET realises that not playing for arsenal has hindered his career as he was so off the pace when he turned up at Ipswich. One more season for us playing every game if we are going nowhere next season then leave. It's a massive decision for the lad play first team football or warm the bech at a premier league club or possibly reserve football again. It depends how much he believes in his own ability. If he thinks he's good enough to win a first team place then he'll e saying to Paul Jewel I want the opportunity I failed at arsenal I think I can make it at ...... If he does think that then I expect we will respect this and try to get as much as we can. what a massive shame that would be as I think we've only seen the tip of the ice burg this season in terms of what JET can do. If he leaves 50% of hope for a return to prem in 2013 will go along with him

At the end of the day if the player wants a move and he can get more MONEY going to the premiership then he will go and there is nothing the club can do about it.

Maybe the club should say 'you can have him for £5m' and see what happens!

Bad news on both fronts if there is truth in this report.
Green is no better than Hyam & at 29 doesn't have the potential Luke has.
Don't think JET should go, for his own sake, but a move back to London & a Tony Fernades backed salary might turn his head.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

enough of this stupid sell talk we are trying to build a team, one which will win promotion and keep us up the last thing want to be doing is selling the few flair players we have...

We hold his contract and registration so it is the club who get the choice not him lets build a team not keep destroying it

Put yourself in ME's shoes, after all the club is his play thing!

You are facing another £?m bill for players wages for another season, after paying out £?m this season to a squad you then watch soaring up to 15th place.

If somebody turns up to offer you serious money for any of your players, you are going to give it some thought. Probably depends on this years tax liability to the Irish!

I wonder how much input PJ (or poss his replacement?) would have.

I'm pretty sure that Arsenal have a hefty sell on with JET. He wouldn't go cheap

I think we may struggle to hang on to him this year, but if we sell him for a silly fee then it signals the clubs lack of ambition. Whilst football is business and business needs revenue, as many smaller clubs make their income by selling players on for a profit, I feel we wouldn't see much of the fee for re-investment as we saw less than half of the Wickham fee put back into the transfer fund. Not what you'd expect from a club with a target of reaching the Premier League.

Green for Leadbitter then

Think we'll struggle to hang on to him if the rumours are true and Cresswell as well.

JET has provided the most enjoyment that one player has offered at Portman Road since Dyer so I would be really sorry to see him leave.
We are not going to be able to match any wages offered by Prem clubs so if the reports are true he's gone.
The midfiled of JET, Murphy, Leadbitter and Drury could be down to just Drury by August- Bugger

I know nothing about Green but hope he is better than the other players jewell has brought who have played for him before- Ellington, Bullard

If the money is right he will go it's as simple as that and that goes for Cresswell as well

I would see green as a direct replacement for Leadbitter.
An improvement? Not in terms of ability but at least Green is a whole hearted midfielder and gives 100%.

tbh I wouldnt like to see Green join us as it probably means Hyam getting more bench time next season :(

With JET: he would sit on bench at Fulham but Im worried about QPR! They will have cash to spend in the Championship next season plus can offer JET plenty of game time. DONT GO!!!

Jewell is not leaving this club, so any thoughts by some on that matter will be disappointed I fear

If we can get 3M for JET then that will help fill the gaps in the team, also if he can get Prem wages and in London then he will want to go, as for Green at 29 he is 3 years older than Boyd and not remotely in Boyd's class so I know who I would go for, but the big difference is that Posh will want a fee for Boyd and Green is on a free so we all know which one Jewell will go for, it will all depend on who else wants either of them because we will be at the bottom of the food chain.
