Town to Hold Open Day
Town to Hold Open Day
Tuesday, 22nd May 2012 10:06

Town have announced that they will be hosting an open day on Friday 10th August. Fans will have the opportunity to watch manager Paul Jewell put squad through their paces in an open training session at Portman Road.

In addition to other initiatives, the players will sign autographs for supporters as they make their way towards the tunnel after the training session.

More than 2,000 fans attended last summer’s open day. Full details of this year’s event will be announced nearer the date.

Meanwhile, further to yesterday's link with Derby striker Steve Davies, Rams manager Nigel Clough has revealed that Davies has been transfer-listed having turned down the offer of a new contract due to "a genuine family reason". The striker has a year remaining on his current deal, Derby having taken up an option on his previous terms.

Don't see how a genuine family reason would result in a Scouser moving from Derby to Suffolk

A positive story about the club doing something good for the fans... 2 comments (both reasonably negative)....

A negative story and we get 100 comments, 'clegg out' 'jewell out' 'relegation next season'....

Reuser, totally agree these aren't proper supporters and have no constructive input

Thought my comment was more realistic than the usual 'we'll mess things up' rubbish. If he's leaving for genuine family reasons that usually points to his family wanting to move nearer home, which we obviously aren't.

Great for the fans to see the players and coaches going through the training routines, at Portman Road. Also a chance to actually see fringe players.
Why can't Reserve team games be played at Portman Road, as in the past, so that Season Ticket holders get full value for money and also evaluate possible first team material?
Special games for Managers/Coaches could be played behind 'closed doors' at Playford Road. I would like ITFC to answer this, perhaps TWTD could ask this question on my behalf.?
