Ipswich will again travel to Colchester for a pre-season friendly game — just as they did last year.

The game will go ahead at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Wednesday, August 8, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £10 for concessions, while admission to the South Stand will be £12 for fans aged between 18 and 21.

Last season’s game was abandoned after an accidental clash of heads between Colchester team-mates Andrew Bond and Mark Cousins.

Shouldn't have been called off that game, bit of a joke really.

Let's have a good following again eh lads.

Went last year, and I think that it is a good pre-season friendly that appeals to both sets of supporters of Football League teams only 18 miles apart. Perhaps a Charity Cup should be created with a percentage of proceeds going to a designated Charity for that year?

Good night out last season - shame that the game was called off - but it was a bad injury. Hopefully this year PJ will go with more attacking intent; played a rather negative 4-5-1 last year.

Cant agree last year was good!!! I spent an hour queing to park (they tried to charge a ridicolous rate) then another hour to get in and watched 50 mins of the most dire, boring football ever, it made testimonials look like the playoffs!! Great turnout though that did make me feel proud as we have such a fantastic turnout of supporters, we really are a proper club with proper supporters.
