Cresswell Amongst Those Making Early Start
Cresswell Amongst Those Making Early Start
Wednesday, 27th Jun 2012 17:16

Player of the Year Aaron Cresswell was amongst a number of Town players getting in some early pre-season training at Playford Road earlier today.

Pre-season proper starts next Thursday, July 5th, but various players were in for gym and fitness work as they prepare for the 2012/13 campaign.

Cresswell tweeted: “First day back today. Good little workout with [Jack Ainsley], Sonks and Luke [Hyam]!”

Released defender Ibrahima Sonko is training with the Blues during his search for a new club, while new signing Elliott Hewitt was at Playford Road for the first time today as he continues his rehabilitation after undergoing hip surgery while he was with Macclesfield. The Wales U21 international isn’t expected to feature until October.

All we need is decent players alongside Cressy now and we could, just could be solid for once at the back!

thats why he was player of the year..! Great commitment, hopefully it'll rub off this season :) can we not just resign Sonko please? The lads seem to leave him and he seems to like the club, plus he's quality!

You just know Sonko will get offered a new deal. He knows it, that's why he's hanging around.

Sonko is not the way forward unfortunately.

I agree he's not the way forward but I still think he has alot to offer! Plus, its always good to have him around, and to have on the bench :) will be good for the likes of Hewitt and Wight to learn off as well

I can't see what Sonko has to offer to be honest, if we seriously want to progress next season then he isn't the answer. The above post has no justification at all, signing a player as "it's good to have him around" is just ridiculous.

@ pabs - isn't that why we have bullard?

Pabs added 22:01 - Jun 27
@billysdad - Exactly - think we're paying enough to have players that are good to have around the club!
