Carson to Miss Season Opener After Northern Ireland Call
Wednesday, 1st Aug 2012 14:09

Midfielder Josh Carson has been named in the Northern Ireland U21 squad for a friendly against Hungary in Tatabánya on Wednesday 15th August.

The call-up means the 19-year-old will miss Town’s opening game of the season, the Capital One Cup tie against Bristol Rovers the previous night.

Carson has previously been capped three times at full level in addition to two caps at U21 level.

seems crazy having a friendly just as season starting. would have been a good run out for Carson too i would suggest, particulary if Martin still injured or even transfer listed we wont have any pace in the team at all for that match! i can see another Northamptonish exit.

Doesnt really matter as you would probably struggle to get on the bench for the Blackburn game

Not good enough and seems to have a rubbish attitude!

I can just see another Northampton ish win from the year before ... hope so anyway as it is possibly the only home game I will make all season as I live miles away!

but in order for that we need to see a strong 11 put out not just a lot of reserves. IF PJ is having as much problem getting us "good enough" then he needs his best 11 to have time to gel - and to gain confidence by winning together!

Reasonably priced tickets for this game, so let's surprise the players and management by the size and volume of the crowd at the first competitive game of the season!! COYB

To those posting that Carson is not good enough, give the fellow a chance, hopefully PJ will play the youth and Carson gets the opprotunity to prove himself this season. Floridaboy, what do you know of Carson's attitude, seems to me that yours is none too good posting a comment, to which, I am sure, you have no idea about.........roll on commencement of season and lets see how well Town can get their show on the road.
