Bullard Joins MK Dons
Tuesday, 28th Aug 2012 19:12

Departed Blues midfielder Jimmy Bullard has joined League One MK Dons, signing a deal until December 31st. The 33-year-old’s Blues contract was settled by mutual consent earlier in the month.

TWTD understands that Bullard was offered the chance to join the likes of Ray Parlour, Graeme Le Saux, Claudio Caniggia, Brian McBride and Martin Keown at Wembley FC as the Combined Counties Premier Division side look to progress as far as they can as part of a forthcoming TV documentary.

However, the former Hull City, Wigan, Peterborough and Fulham man declined the offer as he is keen to continue his career in the Football League.

Smart move by MK Dons as its a short term contract.. Also, is Bullard and MK's owner twin brothers? :-/

Jimmy has the ability to tear opposition midfields apart with his passing, so if the MK Dons can get the best out of him then this is fantastic business for them. May even take my sons to watch him as he was there favourite player!

Jimmy Bullard's second spell here was never going to equal the first in my opinion as he was played in a completely different role with Keith Andrews playing more advanced, if you recall Jimmy was predominantly played at the back of the wingless diamond we adopted for too long. His job was to collect the ball off of our centre backs to limit their temptation to panic and go long, unfortunately this left Jimmy in a vulnerable position when the opposition were in attacking possession. When Jimmy did get brought on in a more favoured position he did show much more flare but found it hard to influence games in the short time he had. I wish Jimmy a good last fling in his career, he has been brilliant for the game, Is a fantastic talent and deserves to be remembered for the light he brought in some dark days for us.

A shame that it didn't work out for him at Town but all the best to him.

I think the fact Bullard couldn't get a one year contract elsewhere and had to drop down a league shows we were absolutely right to release him.

How glad am I that I'm not a MK Dons fan.

I wish MK Dons the very best of luck. They'll need it dealing with this 'character'.

I like Bullard and I think he's a good bloke so I hope he goes and does well, part of me still thinks there is a really good player in him so for him to be in League one doesn't quite feel right despite his decline in performances through his career at Town. Mk Dons play good football though and Jimmy will get games so I'm sure he'll get back enjoying his football again.

I would love to know the real truth regarding Bullard's loss of favour at ITFC, such a pity we weren't able to get our money's worth from him.

Nobody should be a fan of MK Dons - they are not a real club and should have been ejected from the league.
Say NO to Franchise Football.

Signing Bullard was a terrible idea from start to finish. Good riddance.

Think letting him go was a big mistake especially after watching the last two games and our lack of real quality and experience in the midfield
