Taylor Could Face Surgery
Friday, 21st Sep 2012 13:02

New signing Paul Taylor could require surgery after suffering a cracked bone in his foot during Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat to Wolves. Fellow frontman Michael Chopra is a doubt ahead of Saturday’s home game against Charlton.

Boss Paul Jewell said: “Paul Taylor’s cracked a bone in his foot and is on crutches. He’s got to go back and see a specialist in two weeks’ time to determine whether he’ll need surgery.

“It’s a big blow because he’s looked a bit of a shining light for us in the two and a half games he’s played. But when your luck’s going against you, that’s what happens and you can’t afford to let it get you down.

“We’ll have 11 players that will start the game tomorrow and hopefully they’ll be good enough to get a result. Michael Chopra’s doubtful with a thigh strain.”

Another summer addition, 18-year-old right-back Elliott Hewitt, has suffered a minor setback as he continues his comeback after the hip impingement operations he underwent prior to joining the Blues: “Elliott Hewitt has picked up a thigh strain during his rehab. He is going to pick up little niggles.

“Josh Carson trained this morning and is in contention after hurting his knee in training last Friday. Arran Lee-Barrett fell on his knee in training but he’s fine now.”

This might (might) just be one of those things which turn our season around for the better. I've been a big fan of Taylor, he and Luongo are the only one's able to hold their heads hight right now (possibly Loach too) but the fact is we haven't performed since Taylor arrived, as PJ has tinkered with line-up's and formations trying to accommodate him. With his hands tied and neither Taylor or Chops available, JET & Scotland may provide some unforeseen heroics. If not then bugger.

Really bad news, feel for Taylor looks a great little player. I really think we should push boat out and get in Wickham

Oh great. In my opinion I think Taylor is going to become our Top Player followed closely by JET but i also think Chopra will never shine under us. Hopefully im wrong about that.
But i'm more than happy to see Scotland play a whole game and maybe ellington or JET up there with him.

The news out of PR just gets worse by the minute, to say we will have 11 players out tomorrow is cutting it fine, we have hardly a squad left that is worth putting their boots on, Ellington could not not find his way home let alone the back of the net!
Jet could not hit a barn door at 5 paces, and poor old boy Scotland runs out of puff after 45 mins, so what does that leave us up front? not alot really as my Mrs keeps telling me!

Taking my boots tomorrow. I've netted a few in the 70's and 80's.

bad news always comes in groups. We have to get by. Who knows maybe changing the faces maybe the answer.

I'll be there without big expectations.

Bad luck on Paul Taylor. I wish him a speedy recovery. We need players with a bit of energy about them.

I think PJ's time is nearly up and although miles better than the last clown we had in charge, I truly believe he lacks the amount of experience we need to claw our way from the bottom. I understand there are alot of matches to go but this is the worst start we could possibly have had. The small squad we have is down to the Management, both Jewell and Clegg the Clown; Mr Evans is not blameless either. I fear for tomorrow but hope for the best. A loss must indicate a reluctant but necessary change in Manager.
