Campbell Keen to Work With Jewell
Friday, 5th Oct 2012 12:29

New loan signing DJ Campbell says working with Blues boss Paul Jewell was one of his reasons for joining Town on a three-month spell.

The 30-year-old told the club site: “I knew there was interest from Ipswich and working with Paul at this great club was something that really interested me.

“There were a few options but I spoke to a couple of people, like Kieron Dyer and a few of my other mates who have played here, and they all spoke very highly of the club.”

The QPR frontman, whose contract is up next summer, says he’s the man to turn Town’s chances into goals: “I know the results haven’t been the best so far but from what people have been saying, the performances have been good but we just haven’t been able to put the ball in the back of the net.

“I’m fit and raring to go if called upon for tomorrow’s game. Obviously I haven’t played much this season but I've been playing reserve games, so I am match fit and I’m ready to go out there and give 100%.

“That’s something that hopefully the fans will see in me, that I will always give my all out on the pitch and I’m looking forward to getting started with Ipswich.”

Seems a very determined lad. DJ and Taylor when he is fit up front would be a great pairing and lots of goals in them too. Boyd as well, and all of a sudden we see a goal scoring team.

COYB, can't wait for tomorrow now!

Big fan of DJ - reminds me of Ian Wright in that he came to League football late in his career and seems to play every game like he's making up for lost time. Good attitude, an eye for goal, bit of pace and will hassle opposition defences all day - looking forward to seeing him in a Town shirt!

I can remember a time when we took it for granted that we would beat Blackpool to the signing of a player. Proven goal scorer at this level and can't wait to see him paired with Taylor but he has to be first choice if we are playing just one up front.

ON this thread great comments but some town fans are so just anti everything PJ is trying to do.He is a very good manager and will get us to the EPL if you give him a chance. And we have not yet . He needs time to build the side and if loans be it then we have to let him do it the way he sees fit. So pissed off with constant OJ out posts he is the one who will take us up to the promised land. And before you start i have supported ITFC for over 30 years, IMHO

airliner. The problem is that the loans all piss off back to their parent clubs after 1 or 3 months & we are back to square one again. This is a desperate short term attempt to fix the serious slide our once proud & succesful club is in. However, if we do win tomorrow, no one will be happier than me, & before you start, i,ve followed ITFC for 45 years.

This will probably give Jewell more time before the chop with all these new additions at once, that will probably be Clegg's next excuse.
