Pulis Happy to Help Higginbotham to Join Blues
Saturday, 20th Oct 2012 14:31

Stoke boss Tony Pulis says he will do everything he can to help loanee defender Danny Higginbotham to join the Blues permanently. The 33-year-old’s initial one-month loan spell at Portman Road is due to end after Tuesday’s home game against his old club Derby County.

Pulis says he’ll not stand in Higginbotham’s way if the clubs can agree terms on a deal with the former Manchester United trainee’s Potters contract up at the end of the season: "If both parties are happy and we can get a deal done, we will get the deal done.

"We will do everything in our power to help those who have been good for us, and Danny certainly has been good for us."

Both the player and Town manager Paul Jewell have previously said they would like to extend the centre-half's stay.

That is not a surprise. Why would pulis want someone who is coming to end of his career. He will come to us and do nothing but stop are young players coming though such as Tommy Smith. PJ clueless!

Good, we need some stability at the back, i know he's 33 but really is the sort of character were going to need this season. I would offer him a year and a half, at least then we know we will start next season with at least 2 decent centre backs, then we can add to that. Can also cover at left back which could be handy.

2 year deal would be good or up to the end of next season, valuable experience (I know that is a word overused when it comes to footballers but this time I really believe it).

If we can get a deal done, we should do it. Any failure to do so, I would put at Clegg's door.

He's just better than Smith and exactly what we need alongside Chambers.

Smith isn't dependable enough in a long run in the team yet and hopefully he can learn off Danny.

Good move for 18 months and hopefully the De Vos figure we've been missing!

Danny's already thinking how do I get out of ITFC? Easy, play rubbish for the next two games.

Levington that's a nice way to think he will be a great permanent addition to our squad

Has been a good player for other clubs in the past. I'v not been to a match in a while but I read a lot of reports. It sounds like the team make the same defensive mistakes over and over. After this many games in the season, surely its got to come down to a technique or plan that simply doesn't work, regardless of who actually plays at the back. Therefore I wouldn't sign him given his age.

He won't come, he doesn't want to be playing in Div 1 next season

I know Tommy Smith needs a rest but?some logic is missing here ... It was NOT Tommy Smith at fault in the last couple of games! !!!!

Get off his back and start encouraging his development. he is not the finished article but can become it given proper development and SUPPORT

NB. our problem is not dealing with crosses - our airfield and full backs allow us to deal effectively with dozens every game!! but every defence would concede some of the many

Solid
4 4 2 please!

As in a SOLID 4 4 2. MIGHT JUST stop our lone strikers being irrelevant to the match too and we'll see some goals!!!
