Town Topic: Who Next for Town?
Wednesday, 24th Oct 2012 13:33

Paul Jewell's time as Town manager has come to an end, the Liverpudlian and the Blues agreeing his exit by mutual consent on Wednesday morning. Who would you like to see come in as his replacement?

Someone young and ambitious with an old head as Director of Football. How about Di Canio?!!

I would like to see either Paul Tisdale, Darren Ferguson or Karl Robinson. All play good 'typical' ITFC football, good tactically, in depth knowledge on lower divisions, used to smaller budgets and youg and dynamic.

I fear we weill end up with a manager-g-round person... but if we HAVE to get one of them I could only stomach McCarthy or Coyle... but would really rather not to have to- both miles better than Jewell, however.

Who knows! The one positive is Jewell suggesting Clegg and Evans have been supportive. May have been one of the conditions of him walking 'mutually' but let's hope that is actually true.

I think Tisdale and Di Canio would be good shouts (albeit Di Canio is a loose cannon but he wouldn't take any rubbish) and it could be too big a task for Tisdale.

Not sure an old head is what the club needs but may be what the players need who seem unruly.

Edgar Davids could be a good shout. In London with Barnet, looking to manage and could be a bright young thing? Obviously he could be another Roy Keane but then again so could anyone given their first job.

I'd like us to get someone elses manager. Someone doing a good job elsewhere like Bolton have with Freedman. It may cost but ultimately could be the best signing we make in recent history.

Clegg will never take Di Canio, the relationship would be a problem from the start.
Would love Redknapp or Curbishley. Suspect it'll be Cotterill.

The Irish Indepenent report that 'Confusion reigns over Bolton manager vacancy'! Could Evans be making a crafty play for Dougie Freedman?

As long as it isn't either Martin Allen or Paulo Sousa, both currently at odds of 20/1 - I saw what they did just up the road from me at Leicester and I'd be absolutely apoplectic if either of them ended up at Portman Road.

Gary Smith from stevenage - Fantastic job at a small club with no budget. Players play for him and there pride every game.

Failing that Di Canio or Solsjkaer...

Wouldn't mind seeing someone young and continental. Brescia, Recreativa and Rayo Vallecano's coaches would fit the bill. Though inevitably it will be someone 'proven', a la Curbishley. McCarthy, Redknapp and even Glen Hoddle are ridiculous suggestions that I'd be delighted with!

Curbishley must be a front runner, with Mick McCarthy another good bet. I'd be happy with either.

Why would Dougie want to come here? We're no bigger than Palace. I know it will be all about money but I can't see Marcus breaking the bank for an unknown quantity.

Davies or McCarthy for me.
The players need a manager that they will play for and respect !
Both have good track records in the championship...we need a steady hand !

personally I'd love us to take a gamble on someone like Di Canio he'd get us back in order and he's the kind of character we need at times like these! He's been superb at Swindon and would certainly give us fans something to talk about other than the shambles on the pitch! With the group of players we have and a manager with like him I can only see us moving up the table

Can someone dig out the Megson Memorial Cupboard and lock him in it until interviews are over? Ta. Don't want anything left to chance.

Graham Westley
Keith Hill
Darren Ferguson
Solksjaer
Henrik Larsson
Butcher
Martin Allen
Ian Holloway
Robbie Savage
Paulo DiCanio
Paulo Sousa

SOMEONE WITH A CLEAR VISION THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE SPENDING MONET LIKE A KID IN A SWEETSHOP AND THEN NOT KNOW WHO TO PUT IN THE TEAM
