Free Beer at Portman Road
Friday, 26th Oct 2012 20:25

The Blues are launching Town Time at Saturday’s match, a new promotion which gives supporters the chance to buy a pint of beer and get another one free.

Fans who buy lager, bitter or cider in the concourse bars and Legends up to 30 minutes prior to the start of the match will receive a voucher for another pint any time before kick-off or at full-time in Legends only, which will remain open for an hour after the final whistle with entry gained via Gate 17.

The lager, bitter or cider can be purchased in a can, on draught or in a bottle to qualify for a free pint. The offer doesn’t apply at half-time or in hospitality areas.

Town Time starts at Saturday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday and runs until the Brighton game on New Year’s Day.

Halving the price of tickets for the month of December would be a better idea.

This story was the Star headline at lunchtime, unbelieveable! It is not free beer, it is the sort of buy-one-get-one-free offer that is only value for money if the product is reasonably priced in the first place.

I am surprised that the club is encouraging alcohol consumption like this, especially on the Family Fun Day.

Buy one, get one free.

At PR prices you aren't really getting much of a deal.

What about those who can't drink because they have to drive home? How about vouchers for coffee or coke?

I can see practical problems. Because the staff are so slow, I wont have time to queue twice, so will be left holding two pints. Can Mr.Clegg fit some shelving and bar stools . A pool table would be good also.Thanks.
